  1. Lol, we've all met someone that's super gullible. I remember a bunch of us lads went to the lapdancers and for two weeks we texted the gullible guy pretending to be one of the lapdancers. Then the "lapdancer" arranged a date with this guy and we all showed up. Mark, you'd believe anything the BBC told you about Tommy Robinson.
  2. So he's a "thug with extreme right wing views" but there's no proof. Do you know what an idiot you sound? If you were living in Germany in the 1930s you'd believe anything Adolf told you about the Jews and you'd be wearing a black uniform.
  3. If Tommy Robinson is a "thug with extreme right wing views" you'll be able to find some YouTube footage of him expressing those views? If you can't it really just proves that you're a gullible idiot that believes everything the BBC tells him ? Over to you Mark. You prove you're not a gullible idiot.
  4. IMHO, it was a politically motivated conviction... Tommy Robinson is painted as a far right monster, however when you watch him on YouTube he comes across as a very measured reasonable person...
  5. ^^ how much would a blade like that cost? There's something magic about buying a quality tool.
  6. Tommy Robinson for Prime Minister!
  7. Forget the name. It looks like the guy in that sign is getting his "rod" and "nuts" manhandled.
  8. My dad bought some forestry about twenty years ago. He's been selling standing timber and the money he's getting is more than he bought the land for....
  9. Litter in the countryside boils my piss. If I was king for the day i'd crucify people that drop litter.
  10. It's probably drunk teens.....
  11. Child refugee found guilty of the tube attack at Parsons Green... I sometimes feel I'm in some bizzare parallel universe where we are ruled by politicians that are morons... The guy admitted he was trained by Islamic State and he was on a government deradicalistion programme. He hated Britain as his dad died in the Iraq invasion. Why are we letting people like that into the country?
  12. The Russians are obviously the bogeyman that they scare the general population with. However I don't really see what the Russians are doing that is so bad... Are we we not deporting Russian diplomats at the moment? I just wish we could deport everyone that wishes us harm.... Or at the very least stop importing people that hate us and our way of life ?
  13. When I was a kid I'd have believed the UK were the "good guys" in dealings with Russia. However after the UK messed up Iraq/ Afghanistan/ Libya (and nearly Syria) I no longer believe we are the moral guardians of the world.... Without the Russians the extremists would have taken over Syria... I think we should give Russia the benefit of the doubt.... The media do seem determined to have a showdown with Russia. It's been years now that the media have been telling us that it was Russian trolls that got Trump elected. I quite frankly think the media are talking nonsense. It's interesting to see the different responses to these Russians getting poisoned and the response to Islamic terrorism. "Russians" attack other Russians in the UK and it's handbags at ten paces as we expect Russia to apologise and we put further trade sanctions on them. Islamic extremists kill a couple of hundred in Europe and the media come out with "not real Muslims", "mentally ill" and "let's all hold hands and sing songs".
  14. I was after a soap dish and I was disappointed I couldn't buy a nice oak one made in the UK I'd imagine it would be hard for amateur wood workers to find new things to make that are useful (only so many wood shelfs you can put up!). So I'm just throwing the idea out there that bespoke soap dishes are an underserved market. I think this soap dish from the US looks awesome. It's also useful - it prolongs the life of soap by letting it dry.
  15. Yeah, that's right WesD. Maybe it's because your idea of a "top university" is different to most people's.
  16. What other business gets to decide "they get paid enough for the product"? One minute farmers want all the perks of running their own businesses then the next minute they want the Government to step in and make sure they don't suffer losses...
  17. Honestly Richard, if you can't see that reducing subsidies to farmers would reduce farmland prices there's really not a lot of point discussing the issue with you. I hope farm subsidies are slashed. Then in ten years time you can come back here and tell us if it made any difference to farmland prices ?
  18. We know Richard1234 is from a farming family. I'd guess you're also from a farming family? It's almost amusing how farmers take money from the taxpayers' pocket and say they are doing it for the good of the taxpayer. Then instead of the farmers saying "thank you" to the taxpayer they repeatedly complain they aren't getting enough money. #vestedinterests
  19. So if subsidies are cut land prices wouldn't fall? I think you need to go back to economics school....
  20. What would happen to farmland prices if subsidies were reduced? Are they not likely to go down? Lower farmland prices are likely to mean new farmers would need less capital to start their farm.... What's an acre of arable land worth now? £10k an acre? You not think food would be cheaper if it was £2k an acre? Really? I'm on here arguing to reduce farming subsidies. That's likely to reduce the value of the farmland/ forestry held by the family company...
  21. Yeah, another thought provoking post Richard. Correct me if I'm wrong. Your dad is a farmer? It's hardly surprising that you are on here posting how good farming subsidies are
  22. My dad owns a business. The commercial property he runs his business from is worth about £200k. The rates bill he pays on this property is £10k a year. Yet a farmer with a farm worth a couple of million pays zero in rates. Is that natural justice? Why should a businessman pay zero business rates just because he's a farmer?
  23. How many other industries have we let die because they are not economic? Coal mining/ shipbuilding etc was allowed to die and that ripped the heart out of many communities. I just dont don't see the argument that farming is a special industry that deserves billions in subsidy..... Calling me a "bitter socialist" is hardly going to make me change my mind
  24. Happy b'day! Go berserk at the lapdancers tonight!
  25. Or how about: A. No more subsidies for farms. B. Farms pay business rates like every other business. C. Farmers start paying proper fines when they commit environmental offences. Ie no more "slap on the wrist" fines when farmers kill all wildlife in rivers when slurry tanks fail. D. Farmland no longer Inheritance Tax Free. So that multimillionaires no longer buy farms to reduce IHT on their estates. The result will: A. Farmland goes down in price. B. The cost of food in the shops stays about the same. Let's be honest here. A lot of politicians own farmland. There are a lot of vested interests that want subsidies and tax perks to remain the same. Giving billions to rich landowners is really not in the public interest.
