The word "leper" is a widely known word that's been used for decades. Apart from you I dont think many people find it offensive when describing a "leper". Honestly, this politically correct nonsense has to end.

Honestly, I think lepers have more to worry about than being called lepers.... It's a horrific disease where people lose their fingers/ hands/ feet/ facial features. You think lepers are sitting in Delhi at this minute thinking "I wish rich westerners would stop calling up lepers"?

John Major seems to be banging on about another Brexit referendum so the "people can have their say". What do you lot think? I would say the politicans haven't seemed that keen on allowing us to have our say on the EU in the past.... Ted Heath joined the EEC then AFTERWARDS asked us if we would like to stay in. David Cameron promised us a referendum when he wasn't expected to win the General Election.... We only had the first Brexit referendum by chance.. John Major never had a referendum for the Mastrict Treaty (despite other countries having one). So his record on allowing the "people to have their say" isn't very good...

Have you ever been to India? I bet you haven't. In places like Delhi you see lepers on street corners begging. Yet you think it OK to take Indian doctors to work in the NHS. What would you tell the leper below? Would you tell her "the Indian economy is larger than the British economy so it's only fair that we take Indian doctors for the NHS. Your leprosy will just have to wait".

Tbh, I stopped reading after your first paragraph.... I've been to India and seen how poor it is.... India might have a larger economy than the UK however the GNP (economic output per person) is low..... You don't know what you are talking about if you think it's morally right to take doctors from India. Or you just don't think the life of Indians is worth anything. How can it be morally acceptable for the NHS to take medical workers from the third world? I've been to the third world and the medical conditions are horrendous. Anyone that's seen the lepers in India wouldn't come out with the guff you just wrote. You think the life's of Africans don't matter? As long as the NHS gets a supply of doctors and nurses? You think the life's of Africans are worth less than Brits? That's racist. Yeah, I worked in the Middle East as a civil engineer. What's wrong with that? I was doing a job that no local could do (Arab universities are rubbish). I was earning far more than I was earning in the UK. Did anyone die in the UK because I was no longer working in the UK? No....

Just remember with snow on the roofs it's a magical time for the traditional "spot the cannabis farm in the loft" game.

Imho, political correctness is like a religion for many people. It's a set of ideas that don't really stand up to scrutiny. We often get told "all cultures are equal". That's clearly ludicrous, some cultures have clearly failed.... Some cultures are also better than others. Or does anyone here think that women should be treated as second class citizens? Or maybe homosexuals should be thrown off buildings? We're then told that "diversity is strength". How can that be? Politically Correct people constantly tell us we're all the same then suddenly "diversity is strength"? Either all cultures are the same or they are not... Then we're often told that the colonial powers were unbelievable evil by stealing resources 200 years ago. However it's a good idea to "steal" skilled workers (like nurses and doctors) from the third world... The third world is never going to improve if the West keeps on taking their skilled professional classes. Do people in the third world not need their nurses and doctors? Let's face it, people in places like Africa are dying because we've stolen their doctors.... Throughout history mankind has had some awful ideas. We used to believe that witches were real and we'd throw "witches" onto bonfires. We used to believe that earthquakes were a sign God was angry. IMHO, political correctness will go the same way as those beliefs.... Lets face it, it's only white western countries that spout this PC rubbish. No other country comes out with it.

But you obviously don't care about anyone's opinion here. How many people here can read Latin? Only you? Yet you think it sensible to have your signature in Latin... We've all met pompous fools that look down on everyone else. That's the type of person you are. Why don't you show everyone how smart you are and tell us what your signature means? I was quoting someone... I even used quotation marks... I've read thought provoking posts on this forum. Someone calling someone else a "wanker" isn't one of them. I'd have thought you could have done better...

My objection to the use of "wanker" is mainly that swearing is boring. Maybe using swear words was a bit funny when your 15 and you're shouting at a teacher on the last day of school. However we're mostly grown ups here.... Anyway, good to see you post on a non MOT related thread I'd love to get a job at your local MOT centre just to piss you off.

I see the new Nissan Leaf has a range of 177 miles... That's defintely a large enough range for most commuters. Anyone got an electric car? I'd love one, however I stay in a flat and have nowhere to charge one
