  1. I just think the average garage/ MOT test centre is half sensible in applying the existing rules. I'd imagine any new rules will be applied sensibly as well. Anyway, say you need your vehicle picked up in a trailer and moved elsewhere. What's it going to cost? £100? Couple of hundred quid? It's hardly the end of the world. Or do you get your vehicles MOT'ed on the opposite end of the country? I think people are getting worked up about very very little.
  2. Time will tell... My impression of garages is that they are normally half sensible. I can't see them being too draconian with the rules...
  3. Tbh, I don't really want people driving their vehicles on the roads if they aren't safe.... It seems half sensible legislation to me...
  4. The yanks have protestors that have a hobby of walking about town with their assault rifles to protect their second amendment rights....
  5. Are shootings such a problem in the USA? There are about 30,000 deaths in America in car accidents a year... That's about 80 a day.... Let's be honest, the things that will kill American teens are more likely to be poor diet and lack of Excercise... Yank kids are huge..... I was in Iraq with a colleague with a gun. I honestly didn't feel safe with him being issued an assault rifle as he clearly wasn't the full shilling and had anger issues. However until someone goes "postal" there's not really a lot that can be done. In a country that has a weird fetish with guns I think mass shootings will always happen.
  6. Lol, my shotgun is a "super magnum". It can fire a 3.5 inch cartridge... It's like getting kicked in the shoulder...
  7. After being self employed for the last three years I'm a salary monkey again working in an office. It's shocking how many days off salaried workers take... In the last 5 years I reckon I've taken one day off sick. I've worked with people that literally take two days off a month like clockwork... Time to vent off and complain about colleagues that swing the lead!
  8. Is anyone suspect that KFC didn't really mess up their logistics? It wouldn't surprise me if they have a problem with the quality of the chicken...
  9. The thing about welfare benefits is they sound a good idea but end up encouraging bad behaviour. Reward bad behaviour and end up getting more bad behaviour... How quickly would the problem of teen pregnancies disappear if single mums never got free council houses.... The present welfare system must cost a fortune to administer. If Universal Income was brought in it would save billions in the cost of civil servants giving out benefits.
  10. Dry logs = good logs
  11. A lot of the BBC is left wing bollocks.... However some of it's OK..ll
  12. Yeah, nasty sheriff officers making people pay their bills. I don't know what the world's coming to. Far better back in the old days when's you'd just to take a baseball bat to someone that owed you money. I just hope no one here has employed a sheriff officer to get money that they were owed.
  13. Here's my shaving stuff. The razors (left to right) are an Edwin Jagger DE89, Executive Braveheart and a Feather. My favourite is the Braveheart, it just gives such a tight shave and the handle is made in Glasgow. The Feather is quite a famous razor and comes from Japan and cost me £170.... Tbh, I don't think it's particularly good.... The EJ was my first razor and is a good starter razor. The razors cope with stubble really well. I shave twice a week and they just slice through the stubble - something a cartridge razor would struggle with. I use the Gillette blades as they are made in Russia (I like Russian foreign policy) and they come in paper boxes (no plastic to throw out). The chrome box is a vintage razor case from the 1920's to 1950's and came from EBay. I put my used blades into the plastic tub and the magnet on the bottom holds them in I eventually put them in a used soup can and hammer it shut and put it in the recycling
  14. Tbh, you must be watching a different show to me. The sheriffs I see in the shows are normally very professional..... If you've proof they are operating illegally you should go to the police....
  15. Tbh, the way I see it is that people are clever enough to see that places like Africa are more or less a lost cause... People are clever enough to see that no matter how much aid we give to Africa it doesn't seem to make a long term difference. People are also clever enough to see that "African" areas in places like London are rubbish places to stay. Honestly, lecturing people that all the races are the same just makes you look stupid. Anyone with half a brain can look at the world and see that the races are different....
  16. I saw that as well. I thought it was a horror show though...
  17. How about telling us of your experiences?
  18. For some reason I was thinking about comedy on the telly and I realised modern comedy is quite frankly pish. Back in the day you had people like Harry Enfield bringing joy to the grey life's of Brits. I can't think of another comedian that brought so many catch phrases to the English language. You could go into work and say "loadsamoney" or "I appear to be considerable richer than you" and people would have a laugh. Other good comedies were "The Peep Show", "Fresh Meat", "The Inbetweeners", "Little Britain" and "The Fast Show". What modern comedies do we have? A remake of Open All Hours? Anyone go into work and use phrases from that show? This has to be the first time in my adult life that there's not a funny TV comedy that I look forward to watching.
  19. I still have to pay the BBC tax even if I don't watch the BBC.... Honestly, the amount of sneering the BBC manages to fit into programmes unrelated to Brexit and Trump is amazing.
  20. Because I'm forced to give money to a politically biased news organisation? I quite like Donald Trump and I voted for Brexit. However the BBC constantly sneers at people like me.... I'd have no problem giving money to the BBC if they stuck to costume dramas and Dr Who. However they provide news as well
  21. OK, what reasons did the book give for Africa being do undeveloped? I'd suggest if the book doesn't mention massive overpopulation the book is a waste of time.
  22. Tbh, I can't really be bothered reading a book that is likely to give politically correct reasons why Africa is a mess..... I bet the books says it's not the Africans fault that Africa is a mess? Lets face it, the reasons that the BBC give for Africa being a mess are: 1. Slavery 200 years ago. 2. White people. 3. White people selling guns to Africa. None of these reasons really explain why the likes of Rhodesia went from bread basket to basket case.... The real reasons Africa is a mess are: 1. Massive overpopulation. 2. Corrupt leadership. 3. Tribalism. 4. A badly educated population that lacks motivation. 5. Lack of birth control. 6. Cultural.
  23. Someone was saying that Africa was a mess because of slavery by the white man 200 years ago. I was just making the point that other countries have had a rough ride as well and are doing OK..... Anyway, this meme is for you and your BBC brainwashed chums.
  24. Let's look at some twentieth century history: 1. Japan nuked by Americans. 2. East Europe throws of communist rule. 3. Vietnam has vicious civil war. 4. Korea has civil war. 5. Japan nuked second time by Americans. 6. Germany destroyed in WW2. All these countries have had a bad time but are now doing OK. Yet you come out with some unbelievable racist comments that Africans can't build succesful countries because 200 years ago they had slavery. You're now saying that Africans can't help killing each other if Western powers sell them arms? Do you know how racist you sound? Shame on you!
  25. What I find funny about this discussion is it's people like you that are coming out with the amazingly racist statements. You think Africans can't make a success of their countries because 200 years ago some africans sold other africans as slaves... Do you really think Africans are that inferior? Anyone that gives money to Oxfam is basically saying that Africa is literally a charity case and they can't look after themselves. That's textbook racism.
