All that has been sorted I have purchased a dedicated mewp trailer that will accomodate the heaviest machine and keep it under 3.5 ton. The real question is do you sacrifice 2 meters in height and near 2 meters in reach for a drop of 500 kgs???

IMO no you don’t every picker I’ve used has always just run out of reach at some point

They went through ok to start with but seemed to struggle by the end of the day. Have to admit I was struggling by then too.
I got the rootstocks cut down and chipped yesterday which was what was needed but I had more stuff lined up for today but couldn’t be arsed with another day with it not working right. IMG_5611.thumb.jpeg.a407f30d5d2230621bf273899171221f.jpeg

  4. I asked a pretty, young, homeless woman if I could take her home, and she said yes with a big smile.
The look on her face soon changed when I walked off with her cardboard box.

  5. THIS IS A FRIGHTENING STATISTIC,
PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST WORRYING IN RECENT YEARS.

25% of the women in this country are on medication for mental illness.

    That's scary.

It means 75% are running around untreated.

  6. Little lad was mad about tractors - he had toy tractors, tractor wall paper, tractor duvet set, the lot. As he got older he built up his collection more and more and more.

Then one day when he was in his teens he discovered girls and decided it would probably be best if all the tractor stuff went, and he never spoke of it again.

Anyway, he takes a girl to a pub, and because the joke is very old the pub was full of smoke. The girl says to him that she'll do anything he wants if he could just make it a bit less smokey.

So with one big breath, that was it, the smoke in the pub was gone, the air was suddenly clean as anything. The girl says that was amazing, lad says not really, I'm an ex-tractor fan.....

  7. A woman is cooking eggs in the kitchen when her husband comes running in...
Immediately, he sees the eggs and gasps in horror.

"Be careful! CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh, my GOSH!"

The wife, startled at her husband's violent reaction, dashes to the fridge to get some butter.

"You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW!"

The wife, concerned by the status of her husband's mental state, forgets about the butter and goes running to the eggs.

"WE NEED BUTTER! Are you CRAZY??? Where are we going to get the butter? They're going to stick! HURRY!"

The wife runs to the fridge.

"CAREFUL about the eggs! CAREFUL. You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them quickly! Oh not that quickly, don't you know how to cook? Are you insane? Turn the DAMN EGGS"
At this point, the wife starts crying, since she has no idea what to do.
She gasps "What is WRONG with you? I know how to cook eggs."

The husband simply smiles, "I just wanted to show you how it feels when I'm driving with you in the car".

Yes, we were dropped off at the end of the farm drive.

When it was snowing Dad used to take us down in the tractor to meet the bus.

In the summer I used to put a foot each on the three point linkage arms and hold on to the cab behind his seat.

Seemed dodgy at the time, even dodgier looking back.

We were much the same, about mile and quarter from bud stop to the farm. Got dropped there most mornings but walked back most days from about 7 year old. We used to ride in a trailer as the lift arms wouldn’t take 3 of us easily

it never fails to amaze me how a lot of tree folk had similar practical upbringings

  9. 21&3 for me but it was a cortina with 2 brothers outside the pub
do I get a extra point for being brought back from a farm sale sat in a old wardrobe in the back of said cortina with some plough spares?
I also remember lifting the mats in the back and watching the road go by through the holes in the floor!

Arr the good old days 🤣
