  1. These are a pair of owls I carved in the last few days. I've been selling a nice few owls recently, mostly through facebook, owls are popular ! Usually I finish them smooth mostly because I was afraid I'd make a balls of trying to create the feathers with the saw but I thought I'd give it a go with these two, just on the body with the flying one but all over with the chubby one I finished today. Pretty pleased with the result.
  2. Liriodendron tulipifera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It was a new one on me Dave, I had to look it up, there were a few more on site with some leaves left and they seem to match, maple-ish typr leaf
  3. Thanks everyone for the feedback and kind comments. The tree definitely made things easier, (Client told me it's a Tulip tree) it was covered in burls and i think it looks much better with most of the bark left than if i'd removed it all. I suppose a classic case of less is more.
  4. This is a stump carving I did for a client yesterday. He wanted a fairy door and a roof. It was a busy day but he was delighted with it. I'd appreciate any thoughts, thanks, will
  5. I've been watching the progress on facebook, outstanding work, congratulations Simon.
  6. Thanks Shaun, I'll give it a try, what kind of decking oil do you use, I want to get clear oil but must of the stuff i've come across is "natural". I had a look at your website and you've got a great finish on all your carvings Delighted i've inspired you, looking forward to seeing the results.

  12. Hi TheJerBear, Yaeh I knew about the reddit post. A local lady took a photo and put! it up, she reckoned it had been seen by over 300,000, which is a bit staggering ! I've been carving about 18 months and love it. Doing my first carving demo next weekend so things are going well. Attaching a link to my Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/william.fogarty.9 I saw your Brave, awesome piece of work, well done, how long are you carving ? Will Fogarty, Ireland
