  1. I thought trailers over 750 had to be braked and if so, could not be towed on a standard license. Doesn't say anything about that on the pictures above though. Luckily I have a C+E so any traffic officers who pull me can suck my balls....unless I'm overload that is....which is always.
  2. I always understood it to be a gross train weight of 3500. Must check on that. Also is there not an issue in regards to the trailer/chipper being braked or unbraked ?
  3. Anyone know how to edit posts ? I can't seem to find that option. My phone auto corrected a word for me when I posted and now it's really pissing me off that I can't change it !
  4. Too right Mark. I use a spiderjack, and when assessing I use a Pantin and hand ascender. I would say it's as fluent and easy as a good SRT setup, just half the speed !
  5. I use a Harkie Smock, super waterproof and cut to ensure the water stays out. High collar, low back and internal cuffs to stop water going down your arms. No seams, zips or pockets, and conforms with Hi-Viz regulations. Trouble is they get hot and sweaty very quickly. That's the trade off I suppose.
  6. I met Reg at the APF, long time hero of mine. Shame I was pissed at the time and spilt my pint on the floor of the Stein tent. Made myself look a right tit.
  7. I wouldn't consider myself clumsy or unsafe, but I managed to hit my foot whilst snedding. The saw cut through right to my sock or near enough. Had I not of been wearing chainsaw boots I would of lost all my toes for sure ! These are Arbortec Scafell XXR's for anyone who's interested.
  8. I didn't mean that the original sum was peanuts, just highlighting the fact about getting the right people and keeping them there whilst looking after them is important. As for your question, I have no idea. I guess it's all down the size and turn over of the company in some respects.
  9. Exactly. As the saying goes, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
  10. I had the same problem with a Huskvarna 550xp. Just needed the bar dressing.

Thanks Eddy. Any idea where a good starting point for the T screw is ?

All understood. There is also a much larger screw marked with a T on this particular saw. What is this for ?

Thanks for the advice guys. Its a Husqvarna T435 top handle. Daft question but 'fully seated' , would that be turned in all the way to the right or left ?

Hi Guys, Is their a basic setting or a 'start point' for tuning a saw ? Mine is so messed up (no idea how that happened ) and have no idea where to start. Its Husqvarna, but advice on Stihl would be great too. Regards, Al
  16. The minimum diameter for hitch cord in the Arb world is 8mm. If your going to move onto a Hitch Climber with a VT or something similar then you must remember that different size hitch cord (length/diameter) and your climbing line diameter will all interact differently. It may take a while and a few adjustments to find the best set up for you. Also I would go for hitch cord that's pre spliced and cut to length, something like an Ocean Polyester eye to eye. That way it's all ready to go straight from the packet.
  17. I don't see how you could conduct a pole rescue without spikes !? Ladder obviously or pre installed access line ?
  18. I did some work last summer pruning some pleached crab apple trees. Very delicate work all done with secateurs. Whilst we were on the job the regular gardener came up to us and said "oh your doing it like that ? I was just going to run the hedge trimmer over them." Professional horticulturalist my ass.
  19. Been using a 540XP for a few months now and it's a little ripper. Would highly recommend it.

    Postage???

I sent a saw via Yodel the other day. I didn't organize or pay for it,, the person buying the saw did, but it seemed like good service to me.
  21. Not when I did it it wasn't.
  22. If in dought, do what it says on the tin. 1/50 never seems to fail me.
  23. Same detail with my iPhone. Dam computers, they will never catch on.
  24. Not that I know of. Obviously having a level 4 or 6 ND/HND and or Professional Tree Inspectors course against your name will help give some 'weight' to the report though.
  25. Wash at 30 and don't tumble dry. I only wash mine every few months, just don't see the point as they are dirty and smelly after a day or two anyway.
