  1. Hi David, I've been back on the site today and checked the remaining trees for fruiting bodies etc. One is showing fruiting bodies approximately quarter of the way around the stem approximately 4" up the stem from ground level. The crown is also showing signs of die back. The stem has a heavy lean towards a main road (constant flow of traffic), the railings/wall of the opposite property and the stone boundary wall of the site. The tree is covered by a T.P.O. Would I be right to advise in the felling of the tree due to the risks involved if it were to fail. My gut feeling is to feel but I don't want to jump the gun. Thanks
  2. My garage is alarmed, everything is clamped or chained. But the simplest security is a baby monitor. The only set back is we have to be home to hear it.
  3. Thanks for the information, it's appreciated.
  4. Hi, I had an emergency call out yesterday afternoon where a lime had failed at the roots. On inspection I found that it was suffering from Ustulina Deusta. The client asked if the other tree's (all Limes) could be infected. I had a good look for any fruiting bodies but none were present, however the Lime next to the failed tree appears to be in decline. Due to there being a fair amount of die back in the upper crown. Could the decay of passed through the root system etc.
  5. Cling film on my sandwiches, dog poop on my ladders and ivy.
  6. Growing up in the South Wales valleys in the early 1990's there were always old mine shafts/workings to explore. On one occasion my mate and I went exploring with 2 torches, a candle & matches (never heard of methane or black damp gas at the age of 15). We had been underground for about an hour when we were confronted by a tour guide and a group of french tourists. Little did we know that we had wandered into tunnels of a well known South Wales mining museum. My mate just looked at me and said run which we did, to this day I don't know who was the most shocked us, the tour guide or the tourists.
  7. The belt tension is A/OK it just sometimes blocks on the bigger material-used it today and it was fine. I think the machine wasn't level with the shoot side a little lower due to a bank we were working, making it harder for it to throw the material up the shoot (I THINK)
  8. Ooh nasty, made me panic for a moment, ok now:thumbup1:
  9. Can this be adjusted, the rollers seem to be running as they should. The machine doesn't seem to throw as it should from the spout. Cheers
  10. Evening all, Has anyone had this prob with their TW150, the machine sometimes blocks when 4" material is put through. It has recently had the blades sharpened, new rotors and rotor bearing. The stress control seems to be working as it should, the only thing I can think of is the anvil. It is chipping really well but the chip does look a little smaller than usual. Cheers dudes & dude'ts
  11. Agreed, matey just needed my mind made up for me.
  12. Hi, Has anyone used one of these pole pruners before, obviously not expecting it to be like a Stihl etc. There on Ebay for £289 at the mo, but if it lasts a season it's a start. Thanks
  13. I wear a nappy on big climbs:blushing:
  14. Cheers dude:thumbup:
  15. Evening all, I've bought 1998 Entec CH35 chipper are there any grease nipples on the rollers (can't seem to see any). Thanks
  16. The items are back on ebay but are now in a different location? Must be a scam or they are using the original advert
  17. Hi, I'm thinking about buying a Greenmech CS100 has anyone used or owned one of these machines if so are they any good, Cheers all
  18. Cheers matey
  19. Hi all, does any one know where I can hire a stump grinder in the Torfaen area, for 4 large Lime stumps. Thanks:001_smile:
  20. He was found not guilty today:thumbup:
  21. The 441 has been a good saw, plenty of power for big timber. I've had it for a while now only probs have been the AV spring on the handle snapping twice. Been giving it a bit of a tidy up this week just to keep on top of it.
  22. Cheers, thought there was something missing. Thanks again matey
  23. Hi all, just a quickie is there a rubber AV bush just behind the oil filler on a 441, I've never really noticed. The saw has some movement in the main body resulting in the handle handle rubbing on the air filter cover. I've checked all the other AV's and there all fine. Cheers
