  1. It look's more like a fuse going to that space rocket on top of Machen mountain:001_tt2:
  2. At home we were having work done by builders, they txt me one morning with the excuse that one had bad piles and the other couldn't lift his head off the pillow:001_rolleyes:. I suppose it was a bank hol and the sun was shining.....
  3. The outer blade on my entec 6" is wearing unevenly on the outer edge. This has only started to happen after I changed the anvils. The blades don't appear to be catching when turned over by hand. Thanks
  4. Hi, The outer blade on my Timberwolf TW150 is not wearing evenly. The blade is wearing on the outer edge, I recently fitted new anvils. I think it is just catching on the anvil, but when you turn the cutting disc by hand nothing seems to catch. When the anvils were fitted I checked everything was clean etc before reassembly. Does anyone have any ideas, thanks
  5. Hi all, I'm in the process of pricing a job. The work requires stop & go boards for approximately 3 hours at the most. The road is single carriageway with a 30mph speed limit. I'm going to carry out the work on a sunday due the nature of the site. I have the chapter 8 qualification, my question is do I need to inform the L/A of the works, Thanks
  6. My new set up, 110 Td5 tipper should make work a bit easier.
  7. Evening all, thinking about doing a bit of hedgelaying, drystone walling etc is there much call for this type of work. Only do tree work & fancy doing this type of work to break things up a bit. Cheers all:thumbup1:
  8. I've just bought a Td5 110 tipper, the oil pressure switch is not working due to the wires being pulled out after the clutch was changed (prior to me buying it). I've looked for the wires but can't find them. Does anyone know where they could be please. Cheers
  9. I have a large oak beam which measure 2438mm long x 228mm square. It's been in the dry for about 3 years since milling, any ideas what it's worth . Cheers

    Oak beam

I've got an Oak beam I'm thinking of selling as it is surplus to requirements. Does anyone have any idea how much it is worth. It measures 2438mm long 228mm square it's a big old piece that has been in the dry for about 3 years since it was felled. Any ideas anyone.
  11. I delivered a load of fire wood earlier on, came home parked the 90 up to put the trailer in the garage. Got out to move a mixer when I turned around the 90 was off on its own. It smashed through the scaffolding on the side of the house bending 2 of the corner poles and then came to rest in a conifer tree. Luckily it only bent the wing up which isn't to bad considering. I usually leave it in gear but I was rushing:blushing: Stupidly I got between the truck and the house to try and get in it to stop it, narrowly avoiding getting crushed by over 3 ton. Gutted at the mo........
  12. Does anyone know which anvil is on a 98 entec ch35. Cheers
  13. I've been using my 201t for 2 years now without any issues. I've used the 200t's for around 10 years prior to this. You'll probably find it hard to find a goo d 200. The 201's seem to get better after a bit of time. The offical line from Stihl is 15 tanks of fuel before they are run in properly. A friend of mine drilled his exhaust and it died a month later, hence he couldn't claim through warranty. All in all I'm happy with my 201. Hope this helps.
  14. It might be worth contacting your local authority countryside section. Sometimes down this way they run events where you can learn hedgelaying/dry stone walling etc. They have been totally free and a good way to learn the skills.
  15. I haven't done any for a long time but we used to lay on the uphill if on a gradient as this ensures that the sap will rise. Basically you need to cut the stem enough to be able to fold it over (this is known as pleaching), but a section of bark and sapwood has to be left to allow it to grow the vertical shoots the following season. Also cut the stumpy bit off which is left at the rear of the pleacher as this will aid the energy going into the vertical shoots. Carry this on along the length of the hedge. At regular intervals place stakes horizontally as this will give the hedge strength until it gets established. It can then be finished by weaving Hazel or similar between the stakes & tap them down to tighten everything up. There are various styles of hedge laying throughout the country. I've probably forgot something. Hope this helps.
  16. Cheers, the choice of harnesses is quite large. I like the look of the Petzl I'll have to pop to the local supplier and have a good look at them.
  17. I'm in the market for a new harness, I've been using a comet for the past few years. It's been ok but I fancy a change. The tree hog Harnesses look reasonably priced, any one have any thoughts on these. Or can recommend anything else. Thanks all
  18. Took this multi stem ash tree down recently, we used the spider lift due to the fact that between the 2 buildings there was a 8ft wide 6ft deep reen.
  19. It looks like you might be able to get a Teupen Leo 23GT tracked spider lift or similar into that area. Might be worth considering as it would reduce the risk of damaging any of those expensive headstones.
  20. Thanks, the pic's don't do it justice. It might be going along with my trailer to make way for a Defender tipper. But I'm a bit reluctant as it is a good clean low mileage truck & I've got attached to it.
  21. This is my 90 I've had her since 2008, might be coming up for sale soon:thumbdown:
  22. Thanks all, I'm currently using a Defender 90 and 10x5 ifor tipper. The problem I'm having is getting the chipper to sites etc. My mate usually tows the chipper to bigger jobs but this isn't viable for smaller jobs due to the expense of fuel etc. I've always used the 90 and found it invaluable on site clearances and getting into gardens/fields etc. So I don't want to lose 4x4 capabilities.
