  1. Google it if you're not old enough to remember but don't watch the infamous film or you really will be scarred for life.
  2. Bodil Joensen - A real animal lover
  3. The chances of the customer being aware of metal contamination is probably even less likely than me working it out because I would be actively looking for any potential problems when I go round to price the job. If I started charging extra for problems encountered after my quote had already been accepted then I would end up with an awful lot of free time on my hands.
  4. If you were clearing a load of conifers & underestimated the amount of time it would take to chip & dispose of them would you expect to be able to charge more to cover the extra costs? Plenty of people make mistakes with them & have to absorb the costs, no difference with contaminants in trees IMO.
  5. No use on the big stuff but these come in very handy felling & logging up smaller diameter stuff that you know/suspect is contaminated. RIP-350 350mm Ripper Blade [RIP-350] - £105.00 : DiamondBlades.co.uk, Diamond blades, cutting blades, core drills and accessories
  6. Part of the job, you get the quote wrong you take the hit. Finding a lump of angle iron or an old metal sign embedded 3' into an oak or beech trunk is not unusual neither is tin sheets that got stuck in the canopy during a storm & have since been absorbed by the tree or of course the old netting, staples nails etc... I have been known to wave a metal detector across trees before pricing jobs but you still miss bits particularly on the big trees where they don't scan deep enough. If you don't want jobs with foreign objects in trees then stay well clear of anything on agricultural land & anywhere with a history of neighbour disputes.
  7. Kit could be sold here on Arbtrader. If sold through ebay then stuff you are willing to send via courier will go for a lot more than collection only items. I've seen second hand kit go for more than the cost of new.
  8. I prefer to buy reliable tools that perform the job I want them to when I want them to irrespective of the brand name on them.
  9. I have regularly been known to place a Stihl scabbard on my Echo chainsaw, some may view it as sacrilege but I find it performs the desired function adequately.
