  1. Yep I agree with that decent gloves. Only a few quid to, I'm forever losing gloves so it no real heartache if I misplace one too. I wouldn't break the bank buying gloves I've never came across a pair that last. Just don't lower with the pfanner gloves they burn out quite quickly haha
  2. I said the tracked quad chip was useless but never mind, I should of mentioned I usually compare changing blades/checking oils and doing a service/ maintenance to a Jensen 530/40 and if it takes longer than that it I'm not happy , I like the how you can rotate the blade on most greenmechs, like I said before I like greenmechs but they are better chippers out there
  3. Oh dear I read that thread I didn't comment but if I was there I'd would of bought one just to see what happened
  4. And that's incorrect
  5. It doesn't
  6. I've never had carb issues with a 200t, air filter issues which is a sthil thing they always seem to clog up so easily
  7. Nice well if you're stuck with it I recommend modifying it. I'm a freelance climber so mine gets used everyday and it hasn't let me down yet but if the chance of a very good 200t pops up for a decent price I'd buy it in an instance
  8. I've got a 2011 201 so one of the first ones, I got it cheap actually when I got it, it was only a year old and it was terrible actually it was dangerous ( I couldn't finish cuts before the ripped) so I went a head and drilled the exhaust ( twice for good measure) and drilled the resistor out of the carb and turned the fuel up on it then tuned it up after I done that, it's made 100% difference actually I've had mine side by side a 540 and 200 and put them in a log together the 200t was faster but the 540 was slightly slower than the 201 but not by much. But these things should of been sorted before the 201 release and the customer shouldn't have to modify their saw to get it running properly. I also feel that the husky 540 is very over rated only because of the disappointment of the 201 the king of top handle saws is the sthil 200t and I feel it will be for some time
  9. That's true, why is the timber wolf so prone to this bearing failure and those find attached to the flywheel like to come off now and then, just jogged my memory there haha, the jenson a530 though I can't think of any major issues with them actually I've always found them the best small tow along chippers solidly built easy to maintain/access and if you go big the a540 is a great chipper too
  10. I don't mean to be offensive to ground control but I find it funny that they say they're a national company but only work to Lincolnshire Anyway congratulations you guys must be doing something right :-)
  11. I'll just air my views of the the current green mechs personally the gravity fed green mech I'd rather brash up than use that chipper it's terrible, the 130 green mech isn't to bad but if you are thinking of going full time this chipper isn't for you, it's slow and I mean really slow, the diesel 150 green mech isn't to bad but a jenson 530 or a timber wolf 150 are better even if they're second hand. The quad chip is essentially a 150 green mech on a turntable but it's harder to access engine and blades with the compact design. Get the best you can afford specially if you think you're going full time next year, if you buy right you won't need to purchase a chipper for a good few years Although I will say the greenmech arborist 19x28 (7.5 inch) is a good machine it'll eat hawthorn like no tomorrow. One more point I find greenmechs are very messy machines compaired to other makes
  12. Try and find a good 2nd hand ms200t it's still the best climbing saw out there
  13. I've used it for drilling and placing Eco plugs. I thought it was a cracking drill, the company who owned it who I was subbing in for welded a big washer on the drill bit as a stopper so you couldn't drill to far which I thought was a good idea
  14. I'd change that contract fast or you'll have a high turn over of staff and I'll bet my house you'll lose some good lads
  15. The sick pay bit is acceptable, but if they injure themselves at work It would be only fair to pay them for time taken off. When I was employed thats how it worked for me. I think you're being harsh on the travelling time and I wouldn't work for you (don't mean to be harsh) if I didn't get paid for time I was at work, technically they're still working even if driving to a site. If you are worried about fuel costs maybe you need to price that into long distance jobs, unless you've got a contract with a utility company, then you should of agreed terms where you get paid for per mileage for working out of certain radius
  16. Make sure you've got some money left to buy some spanners after you've bought one. Sorry I had to say it
  17. What the hell do you guys get up too haha? You need to get me back in I feel like I'm missing out! Paul I spoke to Steve he's asking after you Oh Chris that dead beech tree still give me chuckles
  18. Haha I like useless stuff I can't help myself, probably explains why I own a ryobi strimmer
  19. Not a problem, it's a bit different from the normal stuff. This is the last one, it's a shame because I had a load more, probably on some memory card in the kitchen draw that houses everything that isn't useful old phones radiator keys and those clips that you seal bread up with
  20. I also believe that one of them was turned into this Sculptor creates giant 'tree spirit' at Stately home Cragside House - Telegraph
  21. And another
