  1. And this is his big bro.. Popular in Germany as overland trucks, pretty cheap and a good mog substitute..
  2. It's quite possible this is my old mill? Where did it come from ? Garstang? If it is I changed the engine in 2005, An engine change will be around a grand I guess and the blade tensioner maybe £3/400 ? So I'd say the mill to be worth around £2-3k in its present state?
  3. Tom When I had nomad I bought a load of these, for one job where a farmer wanted 'reinstatement costs' if we messed the field up, they were absolutely amazing, we used them all the time, even had a 50t crane on them, got the valmet and mog across lawns, out of bogs, across soft Tarmac, just ace, I had the 8'x4' ones. Get them with 1 side smooth then they are easier to drag around with the hooks you get http://http://www.green-tech.co.uk/products/landscaping-ground-reinforcement/ground-guards/ground-guard-gg28-/ Stan
  4. Fasttrac isn't homologated as a hgv, a unimog is, whether it's ago registered or not it is built to a standard that the fastback isn't. As a rule of thumb you shouldn't take an ag registered vehicle on the motorway due tot all the other aspects of the ag classification that is really very grey, like distance from yard are you doing farming or forestry etc etc. however many people do and do/ have got away with it, it is really down to who stops you and what they know or think they know We got stopped in a town with 3pt linkage winch on front and chipper on back and the copper said he would prefer us on the motorway and not in the town if we could get home that way!
  5. I couldn't get this on the first post !
  6. We are now a UK supplier for Alu cab canopies They make a wide variety of canopies and options, as well as drawer systems. We have just taken on a dealership. There is a shipment coming in December, but we have to place orders now, so if anyone is interested please get in touch. I will get info up on our website soon, but for now check out Alu-Cab | Home PM me for UK prices
  7. Normal price for the 2 man 'connect' is £350+ £20 postage at the moment this is £325 including postage. They would have to be very secure fastenings as there's quite a bit of tension. Stan

  12. what age is it? thats a big factor, if its older than 10 yrs then youll get around all the type approval and IVA stuff
  13. well just back from the APF what a week ! good to meet those that i had time to speak with and sorry i missed the rest ! hope you all enjoyed it.. so heres to recap on the many conversations and in some ways a little justification, not that its needed but ive read all the other posts! RHD isnt available, as far as i can acertain any country that has them new cant export them, and if someone did manage to get a new v8 diesel in from aus then it wont meet euroV , and the germans have tried, so end of ! so what you saw is what ther is, its old technology fitted with an EGR system to meet euro v emmisions. its what all africa and the middle east use, its even got a cable to the accelerator pedal, no fly by wire and very little electronics, no carpets, no bullshit, a proven over many decades design that keeps the NGO s and oil workeres , miners etc of the world working. these trucks come from the middle east, via germany where they get european type approval and the EGR fitted. even though it has the type approval i now have to go through the whole IVA testing, change headlights, speedo and loads of other bits this is a major cost, along with transport from germany and the exchange rate fluctuations. the truck at the apf also had some very nice, and expensive alloys with cooper ttyres on, so yes i can understand all the comments on price, and i will take it on the chin, its twice a hi lux, half a g wagon and a quarter a hummer ! some models will be cheaper, the single cab without alloys for example would be about £5k cheaper, so if anyone wants a quote on a specific spec please contact me! for the serious user, the people fed up with down time due to breakdowns, the people fed up with towing weights, the ones having to change trucks every few years, or fed up with dealers only intersted in selling bling, i will be around with the truck as soon as i can !
  14. one like this ...apf stand 1130-1160
  15. well if all goes to plan we will have a 70 series landcruiser double cab on display at the APF the overlander - stand 1130-1160 at the start/end of the demo circuit depending on your route direction ! just near the vintage at the top of the hill.. call in for a brew and check out the best pick up known to man (IMO:001_tt2:) im not posting photos so i dont spoil the surprise see you there stan

  19. You can put them anywhere
  20. Yep if its low you go in the side like a hammock, if its high you go up the rope ladder and in through the 'floor' .. You can set it up on anything, lamp post, landrover and tree !
  21. link to website is on arbtrader advert... have the cider inside, and stay inside LOL
  22. Have you seen these !! Check out our advert on Arbtrader to get 5% extra discount These things are mad
  23. I prefer them in that you don't need the little pot under for the fire, you can put it on a fire or a Swedish candle (A thick glove is a good idea if its been on the fire !) The little 2 cup one with its bag isn't much bigger than a big flask. They are just simple and neat ! I had an old aussie old galv one for years, but these are better made and stainless.
  24. We have just taken delivery of our first batch of 'ECOBILLY'S' These are the Aussie version of a Kelly kettle. I have used an aussie kettle like this for years, but it was made of galv steel. I have been on the lookout for a better version and found these. I never liked the Kelly kettle with the littlepot for the fire, I preferred this style. We are now the UK distributors of these so here it is... Eco Billy Instant Kettle · Eco billy boils water in under 5 minutes using only a handful of leaves and twigs · Quick, safe, contained, environmentally sound fire, leaving only a small pile of ash. · Eco Billy is easy to pour—handles stay cool to touch · Eco billy is made of stainless steel construction for long life · Eco Billy is lightweight and durable Large Eco Billy 1.5 litre = 5 Cups/4 Mugs Small Eco Billy 700 mls = 3 Cups/2 Mugs Eco Billy Bag (For Small or Large) to keep it all neat and tidy ! I will put an advert up on arbtrader with the prices
