  1. The best films ever, cant wait till I go driving at night when its snowing cos its like hyper drive in the MF
  2. Its a lot of truck for the money in comparison.. the RB44 is only 5.5t I believe and the DAF although cheap is massive, heavy and requires HGV, so for a 4x4 7.5t I think the MAN is good value IMO
  3. Some with 4t hydraulic winch mounted behind cab and spooling out to front and rear..
  4. You are probably right, whats really good with these MAN's is the size, they are very compact, and very robust. No complicated torque tube like the mog and no portal axles to worry about. Leaf springs but surprisingly comfy !
  5. I would need to look into this, its something I have thought about.. I will see what I can find out..
  6. I never weighed it empty but I think around 3-4t payload, depending on chip box etc.. Prices around vary on condition as always but realistically £8-12k+ vat then add transport, import, tipper and MOT etc
  7. I had one of these, really nice to drive.. I made it into a camper; [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAgTJPAX6Yk]The Overlander - truck renovation. www.theoverlander.org - YouTube[/ame]
  8. How about this for an alternative to a unimog ? 7.5t permanent 4x4, 130hp.. 5 speed box, 3 diff locks, 3 seat cab, nice and quiet Could be fitted with 3 way tipper like a mog, or normal tipper.. A few about with low km's, some with winch's This would require an 'o' licence Let me know if you want one
  9. The lights above the bonnet at the corner of the windscreen is whats normally used..
  10. Having owned and run several for years I would say Not.. I think there are too many things you need to have experience of to not break something and to get the best out of the wood.. Train someone up who would hire regularly would work, its not like just hiring a digger or chipper for the day..
  11. Theres always the situation of some people not liking something or thinking its too expensive, there is always a cheaper alternative ! The reason for this thread is to assist those who see the value in them and to offer an alternative to what is available on the current market.. I think they offer a real alternative to the Landrover tipper that a lot of people use, and the next obvious step from a Landy is the unimog, there are a few Ivecos etc about, but they are over 3.5t so create a whole new level of hassle.. And from a 'general' world view just look at who use them.. The UN, every tinpot African regime, the red cross and all the other NGO's, they have taken over Australia and Africa.... for a reason Love em or hate, they are what they are !
  12. Anyone who has driven one with the 4.2L straight 6 will know why they are so good, god only knows what the 4.5 V8 Diesel is like at 205hp as I have yet to drive one ! You don't have to buy new, there are plenty of good second-hand ones, juts tell me your budget ....and whether you want a tipper etc..
  13. As with all these things price depends on spec and age.. New they are £45-50k + vat depending on spec as a single cab pick up Double cabs available as well, but LHD.. The last pick up you will ever need
  14. Well there's been a lot of posts on different topics mentioning the availability of Landcruisers.. So I thought I might try and do something about it I have a big interest in these and have owned and used them here and Australia. Through my contacts here and in Oz I am now able to source Landcruisers of different spec's depending on your requirements and budget, I am doing this through my overlandinng website where there is a form to complete if you want one Or PM me ! Get over it! Heres one I have just bought..its been around the world, just waiting on the reg docs .. Stan (AKA Woodmad)
