  1. Any length is not a problem. Given the level of interest I would stick it on eBay and let everyone bid for it !! Would be v interesting to see what it makes.
  2. Ok. Thanks for the tips. Will try and tidy it up this weekend.
  3. Would it e useful in woods with a 'thumb' to grab logs and place on a trailer ? Any idea what weight it might be able to lift ? Thinking of getting one.
  4. Is a yew tree any good ? Just blown down in the wind. Quite and old one.
  5. Let me know when you have some ready to sell. Price inc delivery would be v useful.
  6. Hi, not a particularly useful response in afraid other than to say they are now really expensive. Even battered one from Felixstowe port are pricey. The days of a few hundred quid are will and truly gone due to scrap value going up I guess. Good luck with your search.

  8. Anyone sell logs by the bag instead of loose ? Is it worthwhile ? Thanks.
  9. Thanks Steve, is that £500 once dried or straight after planking ? And where do you market it ? We are in Suffolk and manage 120 acres of mainly ash woodland and rather than burning it all would be nice to see it used.
  10. Is there more profit to be had from milling over firewood ? Is ash any good for milling ?
  11. Scraggs, go and speak with local planning authority now to make sure it's going to be ok. They can be real sods !! And you get some sandle weater digging their heels in it really starts to cost.
  12. Love this thread !!!...ok, so does it 'stack up' (excuse the pun) to buy in kiln dried to sell on ?
  13. What is the RRP per m3 for kiln dried wood delivered ?
  14. It will also depend on whether or not the original planning conditions (if any) have been fulfilled. If they haven't been met then the planning will have lapsed.
  15. Any ideas who is best to use for delivery of this sort of quantity ?
  16. Is the thumb attachment useful for extracting logs from woodland and lifting onto a trailer? If so how much weight can a 2t digger take ? Assume better to buy a digger than a forwarding trailer with grab as at least it can be used for other jobs ?
  17. Afraid I'm new to this and not sure how to set up a new topic !...does anyone know where I can buy some roundwood ash/sycamore delivered to Suffolk ? I so, how much per tonne should I be paying ? Thanks. Olly
