  1. I climb on blue tongue and Samson velocity but I much prefer the blue tongue it's a lovely rope Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. They did exactly that with my brother he referred to someone as a "****" in a conversation on Facebook and was fired 4 days later so he started et proceedings and they settled and apologised straight away Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Nope there 120 miles away for starters and I've barely spoken to them in 5 years Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. All of this was given as a defence in the investigation along with various statements but hr are standing fast, supervisors are all well aware of the tools and the deer Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. I don't think there's a time constraint? Company policy states that if an incident occurs that needs investigating whether it's 10 mins or ten years old they still have to investigate Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Nope the complaint was made on the 15th of January 2014 by a chap who resigned November 2012 and the deer was dealt with in July 2012 coincidently the same chap applied for a job on the 14th but we didn't have any vacancies.. Until now ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. The bit I can't figure out is why it's taken so long for it to become an issue? As said my gears been there for years, it's not hidden and anyone can and does use it...... But now they don't like it? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Nope no conviction. I'm a union rep so have got legal team waiting in the wings ready for appeal, then tribunal. I haven't had a single clear answer as to why or how they've come to this decision only as far as "I've been instructed by hr" Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. They involved the police because they though anything bladed over 3" is an illegal weapon Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. The deer was finished of with a swift nick across her neck, and as for a valid reason for a machete..... It's part of my kit and is used sometimes daily sometimes once a month but it's always in the vehicle, I also had a "hand made axe like tool.... Possibly for butchery" (there words) which was an elwell bill hook lol Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. 50% of my gear isn't company issue lol and the deer was a female water deer that had been crushed by a vehicle, there's no company policy for either and all the sharp shiny things in our vehicle were confiscated and surrendered to the police..... Only to be given back to us the next week by the police because they didn't find them to be offensive. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Originally a machete that's been part of my everyday kit for nearly 5 years but it was infact my penknife that was used and because it's not the £3.99 company one it's the end of the world, there's also 18 months between the incident and the suspension Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Opinions on this please guys, As of Wednesday I am to be dismissed from my job along with another colleague for the allegation of "possession of an offensive weapon" this was later broken down into two separate issues: 1: being in possession of and using a piece of non company issued equipment. And 2: dispatching a badly injured Deer,Therefore making a tool an offensive weapon. Ive currently been sitting around now for three months on suspension waiting for hr to make a decision and they have finally made it, so would you guys and gals deem this to be a valid reason? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Samson velocity and blue tongue here could never get on with 13mm has always been 11mm Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app

  17. He's got 5 tractors! He does competitive ploughing at weekends, he's been doing little private stuff for years but only local word of mouth stuff. I think he just wants to start winding down a bit with an easier life Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. He's got 2 tractors and 2 flails a big 1 and a small 1 not sure of sizes but he's got them also he's got a pretty serious log splitter that he's hoping he could possibly hire out too?? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. A good friend of mine is thinking about going freelance, he can't use a mobile let alone a computer so said I'd ask a few opinions, he's got his own gear and for the last decade has been employed to drive a tractor and flail and do very little else but his contracts coming to an end and was questioning going self employed, he's obviously a bit worried but is there much demand for a hired flail and driver? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Wouldn't of been a false widow there tiny, the "big" uk spider is almost always a tegeneria gigantica and that's a big hairy galloping beast. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Have a look for haplopelma minax it's one of the lividum family but it's gorgeous, mental and doesn't spend all day down a burrow lol we had 1000+ adult females of pretty much every species of tarantula available at our peek :-/ feeding day wasn't fun! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. The males are pathetic! They are literally that small the females don't even notice them Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. That's a Nephila clavipes (golden orb weaver) used to have a big female in my bedroom as a kid Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. It's a Segestria florentina or common tube web spider, completely harmless and only a danger to a passing woodlouse, definitely not a Cobolt..... Lividums are tarantulas (Mygalomorphae) and this is a true spider (Araneomorphae) And squashing her? Seriously? She's a whole 16mm on a good day, try keeping and breeding a spider and you'll appreciate the battle it's taken to get her that far..... If 2 out of 500 make it to maturity it's a miracle Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
