  1. It's quite strange as of last week was the first time he'd undercut me on a domestic job ? and now I'm working through his Tree surveys as part of a commercial contract and all the ones he's done himself are... Well... Have me questioning his rationale but hey, Not mine to reason why.
  2. Should be OK, my TO is the chairman of AA Wales ?
  3. Ahem... And what of the trailer version?...!... ? ?
  4. Haha are you talking about Steve? He's told me some right stories! Think he was on 8.20 an hour, used his own kit and PC was an absolute urine taking ?
  5. Funnily enough I'm asking my Nat parks TO about the tree warden scheme tomorrow! ?
  6. Stubby will do it for half a Guinness! ? ?
  7. Well this is life and Arbtalk! (*circles) get used to it! ? ? ?
  8. Price was £650 (no vat) , for 40ft birch dismantle, massive monkey puzzle 60ft crown lift/deadwood removal, shrubs trimmed and other small saplings removed including roots. Including CA application. Seems fair ? I'd quoted 600 for three 40ft pines to be dismantled and a 30ft cony to fell but bloke cancelled week before cos someone said they'd do it for 250 and the wood! ? By my 'move on' statement I only want to offer you wisdom from a past similar experience - as they say, those who stick their heads above the trench,,, get shot! But morals are (should be) everything ?
  9. Just swallow your bitter little pil and move on (nothing to see here! ?) just out of interest how big was your quote? Could just be a lesson in pricing the job...
  10. 'Chip off!' ?
  11. Who needs a tracked stump grinder anyway ! Well I do but can't afford one, so until then...
  12. Jeez.... It's OK, we get it. You're annoyed with yourself for promoting an (imho) inferior product... Let it go pal ? tracks are better in nearly every possible scenario ?
  13. Well handy aren't they! Have you tried dragging anything with it? Great for brash dragging!
  14. Make sure the revs have dropped to tick over before changing gear!
  15. @equip4ind Danny I need what's in the bottom picture!
  16. Shame they're not self propelled on tracks! ?
  17. Haha, don't think I've ever left a site sterile! ? what County are you in? May have got you confused with someone local!
  18. Option 4, work to clients spec (within reason & law) to clear and reinstate historical religious walkway for new tourist development. Brash chipped pretty much where it fell to create a basic path and customer paid extra for 4 days splitting it for them. Option 5, crane. Thanks for your unhelpful advice ?? is it sour grapes that my little tracked toys are undercutting you and winning me a lot of jobs? ?
  19. https://equipment4industry.com/collections/baumax-tracked-dumpers
  20. Mines absolutely faultless, carries full load of 20mm stone with ease & full load of wet soil it doesn't even notice it. Personally don't like the box beds, handy if they open up & fold flat but no good for me. Also find them a bit front end heavy.
  21. Haha, yeah sounds painful! It'll just be an extra tool to get between the grave stones, will probably rent another tracked dumper but for the cost of a muck truck I may as well buy one + I can't use anything over 1 ton on site due to the delicate condition of the headstones and monuments. Nice 8 week job & my biggest tender ?
  22. If you want to work in any weather condition then go for tracks, if you want speed and something that doesn't tear up the grass then go for wheeled. For me hydraulic tip is a must but for what you're doing it shouldn't matter. I've got a job starting next year clearing a cemetery then adding a thousand tons of topsoil and I'm looking at the muck truck to add to the toy box but not sure if the beds are big enough on them, ideally you want to move as much as possible in each trip. if it's just mulch then a cheaper mechanical drive should be OK with greedy boards. Talk to Danny @equip4ind for a good deal ?
  23. For 2000 branches I'd want feed rollers! ?
  24. That was my kinda thinking before I found the Peruzzo. Seriously have a chat with @equip4ind & then @Arblease you won't be disappointed!
