  5. Hi all I'm looking at getting my first proper chipper rather than the gravity fed echo I have now. I've managed to scrape together £4500 I know it's not going to get me a lot but does anyone have a good first chipper I've seen a few tw150s for this price in the past but can't find any at the mo. Does anyone have anything for sale in east anglia or the south east I could have a look at. Thanks Andy
  6. I have a huge pile of windfall from last year all covered in ivy still haven't had the motivation to cut and split!
  7. Nothing can come through to the cab on mine as there is a floor to roof partition for this reason so hopefully pretty safe. I have got a padlock but there not that much to attach it to on the tools so can be difficult I just plan it so I don't need to stop where the vehicle is out of sight.
  8. I have left a gap at the top of the central partition so I can slide rakes etc across the width of the truck they fit nicely. I can't fit long reach hedge trimmer or strimmer in they get thrown in the back only problem is I can't stop anywhere if I'm on my own.
  9. Just 3 simple ply shelves and a partition and plenty of room for tools as well.
  10. I think farmer Ben on here has a chip site in Bures just outside Colchester might be worth a message
  11. I took the seats out and just made up some ply shelving with a partition between the cab I'll take some pics tomorrow was cheap enough to do
  12. Thanks everyone Jonsie I'll be putting my order in the next few weeks once I've been paid for a job. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  13. I went to quote for 12 sycamores around a horse field at a livery yard last week. It seems to be more in the horsey media this year as a couple of horses have died from apparently eating the seeds. I think the owner of the yard will just fence off the edge of the field rather than spend the money but fingers crossed. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  14. Thanks guys I was looking at the Japanese ones wasn't sure how good they were but there seems a lot of good things said about them think ill end up getting a set of 3.6m ones these should be tall enough for what I need. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. Do they have the 3 adjustable legs for working on uneven ground some seem to and others don't Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  16. Hi all I'm looking at getting a set of tripod ladders as I seem to be doing more and more big hedging jobs and I'm fed up of almost killing myself on a small set of ladders. What would people recommend I'm still trying to figure out what height I should go for Thanks Andy Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  19. Found this little creature today hiding under some soil I moved in a garden. It had an orange stomach but I couldn't get it in the photo. Is it a common lizard never seen one before thanks Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  20. Thanks everyone for your views on it it's interesting so see others differing opinions. I went round to the customers yesterday and cleared the mess up. They have decided to leave the tree as it is and let nature take its course as there's nothing to get damaged if it does fail in the future. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  21. Thanks I did wonder if it was just a failure as there was nothing else I could come up with that had caused it. Yeah it was raining heavily Sat night was blowing a bit of a storm for a few hours. Both stems are fairly substantial and have a large crown so plenty of weight on them Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  23. Hi all I had a phone call yesterday morning from a regular customer saying their weeping willow had lost a branch!! On going over to look at the tree at least 50% of it was lying on the floor of the garden. It seems to have failed at the union of the two main stems causing one to split and tear away. The tree generally appears in good health there are no signs of decline in the crown. I had a look around the base of the tree and surrounding area and can't see any visible signs of fungai. The only thing of note is a white powdery mould like substance on the inside of the tree and the tear see pics. Any ideas what this is or could there have just been a weakness in the union causing the failure. Sorry there's not a pic of the whole tree it's fairly large and I couldn't get it all in focus. Thanks any ideas gratefully appreciated Andy:001_smile:
  24. Wj green in Hadleigh just outside Colchester worth a visit
  25. Very nice looks a good job where did you get it done?
