    Hi all, After some advice please. I'm looking at getting my first chipper, it would have to be 750KG or less and around the 5k mark. What would be the best chipper for that price and where is the best place to look? Thanks in advance, Ed

    I've had the same conversation with difference insurance companies and they tell me the same thing! I sorted my insurance out with a company at the arb show. As I work for myself I'm not prepared to take any chances! The reason I asked was to find out the going rate for a freelance climber with all my own tickets and kit. Cheers.

    I was told by my insurance, even if your working for a company the minute you start telling people what to do they become your responsibility. Hence the employers liability!

    Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm a self employed climber with cs 30, 31, 38, 39, and 41. over 3 years experience, all my own saws, climbing and lowering kit etc. fully insured with employers liability. I'm just trying to find out what the going rate is for a self employed climber. Thanks in advance Ed

    Hi All, I'm currently looking at getting some new climbing boots.I like the look of the A1Rb boots plus they are a class 2 boot. Has anyone had a pair? if so are they any good? Or shall I I go with the Meindl Airstreem. Thanks in advance. Ed :thumbup:

    The best I can offer is to pick it up for you and store it at my place until you can pick it up. I live in Bewdley, I go to Leamington quite often in warwick to see my brother which is probably only 40 miles closer! Not sure if this helps.

    Cheers New Guy Ti, If you go on Kingswood Training website there is a 5 minute video of the assessment. There is quite a bit of theory involved which teaches you a lot. One thing I will say is you have to go back to basics with cold starting your saw etc. If you have been doing it a while you may have a few bad habits. Good luck!

    I've just passed my cs41 at Kingswood Training, absolutely made up. I have to say it was a fantastic experience and a big eye opener on the forces applied when rigging loads above the pulley. Kingswood is a very professional set up and the trainers and assessors were great! :thumbup1:
