  1. 'Take a look at the new trousers on the market like Waipoua A's and C's from yes you guessed it !! available now from most of the major Arb dealers in the UK.' In my opinion these trousers are crap. They may be comfortable but they rip too easily and mine only lasted me 6 months of hard work
  2. I always love it when farmers get that stary look in there eye when discussing how much that oak trees worth. "Must be worth milling" they try to tell you when its only got an inch of sound wood all the way around it
  3. ive had a pair for 6 months and know theyre full of holes, the blocking material has all shiftes and the arse has busted in 2 or 3 places so not happy. Admittedly they are comfortable but they arent as tough enough for use in full time forestry in my opinion, plus the lack of pockets is a right pig as you have to where a tool belt to carry wedges in. Next trousers will probably be the fiordlands as they look a wee bit tougher, only one way to find out though
  4. doesnt quite show the full extent but this is me getting coleg Llysfasis county 1164 unstuck after i grounded it out on a stump and stuck on 3 wheels, heap of s£$^

I am just starting to learn to climb and really want a harness so i can practice in my own time but dont want the expensive of buying an arb harness as i may not use it very much if ever as i am scared of heights.

  12. Personally i think i would prefer a tractor and winch especially if downhill skidding. If you use a skidding arc you need to get right over the tush and cant drop it if you start getting pushed downhill. Whereas with a tractor and winch you can winch the tush to the back of the tractor and you can drop the tush when crossing difficult ground.
  13. Looks like an aesculus of some kind maybe flava

  15. my father and i are hand cutting and skidding timber
