  1. Vacancy 1512-6 Second Climber London : £10.15 - £11.93 hour Our client is a south London Borough council. The borough is ethnically diverse, with a young and growing population. They are looking to recruit a temporary (January to March 16 inclusive) arborist through CTC recruitment. Second Climber Working as part of a three man gang you will assist the lead climber in undertaking aerial tree work operations to all council owned trees. Our client has a large direct work force of arborists who maintain the council's trees on a wide range of sites. In addition they undertake non council and other commercial contracts. Due to the loss of some staff (one has been promoted) they are looking to recruit two additional arborists. Candidates will need to have NPTCs for aerial use of the saw and ideally some previous climbing experience. A driving licence would also be an advantage. Initially employed on an agency basis candidates may have the opportunity to work directly for the council. Employing several Tree Officers and Inspectors our client not only manages their own authority trees, but also those of several neighboring councils. They also have a direct work force of arborists who maintain the council's trees.   9. Our client is an established arboricultural business based in Hamburg northern Germany. The owner is an english man who has developed a strong client base which includes the city council and other large commercial clients. They have a strong order book and undertake only arboricultural work. They are currently looking to employ an english climber on a 3 month contract from January 2016 to end of March 2016. The role will have the option of going permanent or becoming long term if the candidate likes working in Germany. They currently have four arborists and work as one large team undertaking a lot of routine pruning. They use a MEWP for accessing the trees and establishing an anchor point. The yard is based about 30 minutes from Hamburg where most of the work is undertaken. They would like to have a climber who has 1-2 years climbing experience. NPTCs for aerial use of the saw are essential as is a driving licence. The rate of pay offered will range from 2300 to 2600 euros per month subject to experience and qualifications. The job is PAYE so there will be benefits to include paid annual leave (34 days) and sickness insurance and a pension. Our client undertakes work for a range of clients including local authorities (and even the Royal Parks), plus commercial organisations and private householders. They maintain the garden squares for the Grosvenor estate in central London, which have some of the largest planes in the UK. To enable them to work productively they have invested in several items of heavy plant and specialist arboricultural machinery inluding a 20m MEWP, 9m telehandler and tipper lorries with grabs. They are currently looking to recruit upto 2 new climbers to replace one member of staff who is leaving and one who is going travelling. Although experienced candidates would be preferred they will also consider newly qualified arborists with NPTCs upto and including aerial use of the chain saw. Further qualifications such as chipper, stump grinder and sectional felling tickets would be an advantage; as would a driving licence.   17. Our client is an established contractor (since 2004) based near Rugby in north Warwickshire. They have a largely domestic client based with some commercial clients. They operate with one team of three staff. Their Lead Climber recently left and so whilst this work is currently being undertaken by the company owner they want to recruit a replacement to allow him more time for quoting and other management tasks.   23. A temporary 6 month opportunity for arboricultural or landscape officer has arisen to cover maternity leave in Kent. This role is fundamental to supporting both the Landscape Management and Arboriculture elements of the team along with working closely with our highways operations colleagues. Although primarily office based there will also be a requirement to undertake some work in the field. This position would suit an arborist who is looking to gain technical experience in the public sector; candidates may be studying for a level 3 qualification or already have one. It may be an arborist who wants to give up climbing but still work within the industry in a non hands on role while considering under taking further training or qualifications. The main part of the role you will be require you to review new enquires received by the Soft Landscape team through the WAMS/ Confirm system and where possible resolve at first point of contact which will involve follow up calls with members of the public. A collaborative working approach will be required with other teams across the highways, transportation and waste directorate to resolve enquiries. There is also a requirement for general administrative duties which will include managing email accounts, preparing meeting minutes, works ordering, managing incoming enquiries for first point resolution (data cleansing) and providing procurement support for the team. As you may be required to undertake site visits from time to time you will need to hold a valid driving licence. Access to a KCC fiesta van will be provided. Site visits will involve contract monitoring of urban grass cutting contracts and tree works. There may also be a requirement for customer enquiries to be followed up with site inspections.
