  1. Our client is a medium sized arboricultural contractor based on the outskirts of west London. They have been trading since 2001 and have an established client base consisting of commercial and domestic clients, including several large social landlords as well as prestigious central London estates/squares. The work for the Housing Associations includes a complete tree management service; involving mapping and surveying the tree stock and then specifying remedial works as part of a cyclical programme undertaken over a number of years. After nearly ten years of service the current Manager is leaving to work for himself and the company is looking to recruit a replacement. The role is a varied and interesting position involving a mix of management, technical and hands on functions: 1. Management: Oversee two teams of staff; issuing and organising day to day work, Management of a fleet of four work vehicles and associated plant and machinery, Administrative duties such as H&S paperwork and financial reporting, Upkeep of an office and yard facility including disposal of green waste, Pricing and quoting for work; client liaison and site meetings, 2. For the technical part of the role a Level 3 qualification in Arboriculture is essential. For those candidates who do not have a higher level qualification we would provide further training. Good organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients and peers are important requirements of the role. They also expect candidates to be IT literate since the use of computerised tree management and mapping software is part of the job. They are looking to recruit an Arboricultural Inspector to carry out a Highway safety tree survey. Approx 4,500 trees.   3. Our client is an inner London borough with a strong reputation for progressive Tree Management by an active arboricultural team. The borough has a large Georgian and Victorian housing stock and was ranked as inner London's 'greenest borough' and London Transport's 'best bike borough 2006'. There are 62 parks and open spaces, covering 815 acres. The council are currently looking to employ a Tree Officer to join their arboricultural team who manage trees on highways and in parks. This role will involve surveying and specifying works on a programmed and ad-hoc basis, managing and monitoring arboricultural contractors and liaising with the public. There will also be a requirement to provide advice or guidance to other council officers on tree related matters, possibly in the form of reports. Candidates should hold an arboricultural qualification to level 3 and ideally have previous technical experience in managing or surveying trees. The ability to communicate effectively with all tree stake holders is also important. They undertake a wide range of work from small domestic jobs to large local authority and commercial contracts. Our client undertakes work for a range of clients including local authorities, government agencies, (the Royal Parks), plus commercial organisations and private householders. Due to an increase in work they are looking to recruit an Assistant Manager to help with the day to day running of the business. They specialise in arboriculture and ecology and undertake work for a wide range of clients in both the public and commercial sectors; managing projects for local authorities and planning departments along with work for private estates, commercial, leisure and education establishments. Established in 2008 the company now employs five consultants and due to continued growth is looking to take on another arboricultural professional in a permanent role. The successful applicant will undertake tree surveying work and prepare associated reports to accompany planning applications, tree management plans and delivery of reports to land and tree managers. This post would be based near Ipswich within a short drive of the Suffolk coast AONB and Stour valley villages.   19. Small arboricultural contractor based in scenic area of Gloucestershire near Cheltenham requires an NPTC qualified, second climber to supplement existing 2 man team. The company undertakes work in both rural areas of the Cotswolds and also in Cheltenham for mainly domestic customers. They have been established for some years and have a large number of repeat customers ensuring they always have a full order book.   20. Our client is a borough council based on the Berkshire/Surrey border. Located within the Thames basin it covers an attractive area which includes several affluent market towns. As such they have a significant and highly valued tree stock both on private property and council owned land. They require a temporary arboriculturalist to clear a back log of work and expect the role to last for a period of three to six months, working 2 to 3 days per week. Reporting to the Parks Manager the role will involve surveying and specifying work on council owned trees and advising the planning department with regards to applications to work on protected trees.   21. Our client is a north London Local Authority. The tree section is responsible for the management of a large stock of council owned trees. Each year they survey a percentage of the tree stock and produce a program of cyclical pruning as required. Data will be recorded on a PDA and entered into tree management software. To undertake the scheduled Tree Survey and ad-hoc tree inspections they require two qualified arborists, ideally with own transport (mileage paid).   22. Our client is an established arboricultural consultancy based in Hampshire with an extensive client base through out London and the southern counties. Their clients consist primarily of large commercial organisations and government agencies for whom they provide a range of technical services from arboricultural consultancy (including tree protection and root survey) to Japanese knotweed survey and control. They have developed a knotweed control program which has been endorsed by mortgage lenders (the presence of knotweed can affect lending by banks/building societies) and as a consequence this service is in great demand. With the growing season about to begin they are looking to employ an Environmental Technician to undertake this work in London and the South East. This will involve undertaking contracts for knotweed control; either through chemical application or organising complete dig outs on development sites. The role will also involve site inspections and assisting with pricing. Candidates should have PA1 and PA6a and a driving licence (Cat B). An arboricultural or horticultural qualification to level 2 and/or previous experience of knotweed control would be an advantage, but are not essential.   25. Our client is a registered social landlord (RSL) based in London. They are one of the oldest and largest housing providers in the country having been founded in 1862 and with more than 27,000 homes. The grounds maintenance and tree works are undertaken using an in house team. They are currently looking to recruit an Arborist Supervisor to oversee a small team of staff on a day to day basis. Reporting to their depot in SE28, this role will involve organising and issuing work, undertaking tree inspections, liaising with residents and members of the public.
