Business is strong and they are now expanding and are putting together a third climbing team so are looking for a qualified climber. This is a full time permanent position based in Gloucestershire but covering a 100 mile radius. All types of tree work carried out; reducing, felling, pruning, replanting etc. including emergency tree work. Powerline clearance. Predominantly commercial work but some domestic. The site is a triple SSSI and includes many veteran and ancient trees in a mix of heathland, woodland and open space that is of high amenity and landscape value. They are currently looking to engage a temporary climbing Arborist. This is likely to be for a period of six months. They are looking for a driven, highly motivated and skilled Arboricultural Manager to join the team. The role would involve project managing a programme of urban tree projects ensuring they are delivered safely in line with current health and safety practices . Acting as the main point of contact for local councils, tree officers, project partners and other stakeholders to manage clear lines of communication and ensure that projects are managed and delivered in line with current planning policy guidelines and legislation and meet the needs of the local community. The successful candidate would undertake site surveys ,produce recommended tree species lists , liaise with established tree nurseries, select, source and order all trees and planting accessories, manage deliveries and care of tree stock. This would also involve managing budgets for the tree planting projects and developing a three year maintenance programme to ensure successful establishment and to monitor tree health. The successful candidate should hold a nationally recognised qualification in arboriculture or urban forest management (Level 3 or above) and have practical experience of planting standard trees and maintaining urban tree planting projects. They have a wide client base from domestic and commercial work to large public sector contracts. They also undertake some utility sub-contract work. The company currently has two vacancies for climbing arborists: Lead Climber: The Lead Climber will need to hold NPTCs for aerial use of the saw and be able to undertake to the full range of arboricultural operations.
