  1. Maybe I just need a clear out but it's all so handy to have if needed!
  2. Lol I seen it already mate no need to highlight it
  3. Cheers rover and tree fancier.
  4. None of my tools were brought brand new mate
  5. See this in my dilemma why can't there just be one definitive answer on storing tools lol just Google local aspen dealers I can go and get some aspen from the shop at 8.30 and spend the day filling them up with it but then two people say don't use it
  6. I wouldn't say i struggled mate but it's like any business you will need to eventually spend on bigger equipment to grow and expand. I recently rented a tracked chipper for £150 a day. I put that I'm the price of the quote so all good BUT if I owned that chipper and still charged £150 a day it would soon help pay for its self. I hope it's coming across as I mean it! Maybe being young and daft with money for first few years never helped
  7. I wouldn't say that at all tbh! A lot of weeks i made well over a grand I was just using that as an example that to earn £450 in my own pocket 52 weeks a year id have to do a grands worth a work to cover everything else. To put it in perspective I started courier work In march 2016 and to date I've earned just under 19k.....that ain't bad money and now I'm starting to know my rounds better and getting quicker each time I can get more rounds done which will pay more! I'd rather save and buy a truck/chipper for cash than on finance aswell then I'm set up for a good few years
  8. It's a shame I can't do both part time tbh that would be ideal but the courier firm don't mess about and only want full timers which is fair enough I guess.
  9. Lol yeah of course mate! I go gym alot more now tho so keep myself fit that way and walk the dogs a fair few miles each weekend with all my free time of not messing about with quotes etc lol
  10. Can you literally just leave them full of aspen and then pick them up weeks later and use them?? I'm off today so if so I'll spend the day doing that!
  11. And when I say make more money I mean actual cash in my pocket! On a good week of banging the hours and rounds in on delivery work I can earn upto £650! Average has been £500 and my Berlingo van does 500 mlies on £50! To come out with £450 myself on tree/garden work by the time I had paid fuel, wages, tip fees etc i would have to be earning £1000 a week as a company!
  12. Lol that's the thing tho mate I doubt I could do delivery work forever but after 10 yrs of looking for work it's nice to go home at the Weekend and switch off tbh, maybe it's just the time of year and I'll freshen up in spring lol
  13. Hi all hope the new year is going well for you. Basically I had my own tree/gardening business for a fair few years and have built up a steady arsenal of stihl tools along the way! However last March I got offered a job as a self employed courier and I've not looked back since tbh. Easy money, work guaranteed all year, never rained off (sometimes miss that on a Monday tho lol) and no stress with pricing, dealing with customers/public etc BUT that also means all my saws, strimmers, hedge trimmers and blowers are sat doing sweet FA! ive been speaking to the main guy at the courier company and he is telling me to get ready for a busy year and has promised work from now right up till june 2018! And that's what's just in the books now! The money's good to and my original plan was to save up by a decent truck and chipper and go back to sweden for a summer and find work over there but now it's looking like I can make better money on the driving work without the hassle lol its just my tool's that worry me now tho! What would you lot on here do?? Sell them and buy more in future or keep them in storage till I need them with all the risks of storing tools (theft/gathering dust etc) I get attached to my tools which I know I shouldn't but they have earned my corn in the past and it's hard to say goodbye lol please be brutally honest what you would do as that's why I asked
  14. Haha!!! Yeah I'm near derby but willing to travel anywhere within reason! Notts,Derby, brum etc
  15. Just been told our hours are to be cut down at work after X mas (but still getting paid ) so I'm looking for some part time work if anyone has anything going??? I have all my own saws, strimmers, blowers etc, my own van and full ppe and not expecting mega money just want to fill my time up and enjoy tree work so thought I'd ask
  16. Vet sad read I know his parents mean well but they even say it themselves that it was a tragic accident and a "fluke". I don't think pushing extra safety gear on climbers is a good idea. The standard industry clothing is already available and you lot know what you have to wear and the risks you take if you don't. Some areas of the body just simply can't be covered while your climbing/cutting in a tree and unfortunately your neck/face is the major one of them! Hope that's not taken in the wrong way at all just merely giving my opinion on a tragic story.....RIP
  17. No that's perfect! The job is near Burton. How much a day and how much notice will they need??
  18. Does anyone know of the above?? I can only get towed ones and need one on tracks for two days in the near future. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks
  19. Did you edit your post due to incorrect spelling??
  20. Did you have predictive text lessons at school?? Always one wanker
  21. Thank god for grammar police
  22. Don't know if this has been in before but these scumbags have knocked me sick!! Disgusting to think they even try this stuff See you next tuesdays........
  23. I was in Sudbury for 3 months not so long back! Was it the gypsies by the entrance??
  24. Scousers out robbing.....whatever next lol
  25. Hi mate thanks for that and yes your right I cut a strand off to see if it would feed through but unfortunately it wouldn't! I'll take it to a blacksmith one day and see what he can do for me! Do you have a tirfor? One tool I always look forward to using lol
