  1. Hi, looking for a kindling machine, ideally nothing too flash as it won’t do much. Anyone got one in back of a shed they aren’t using? cheers
  2. Hi Steven, sorry when I said kindling for own use I meant to produce just for our own resale through the firewood business. probably be looking to do around 1k nets per year roughly. Budget 2-2.5k on the kindling machine.
  3. As per title looking for a cheap ish kindling machine. Will only be used to produce our own kindling so not looking to spend a lot on one, needs to be one that takes round wood. Also looking for a decent used processor, something like a tajfun 400, Posch 360 sort of machine. pm with details or send phone number and I’ll give you a call. West Yorkshire based. thanks Chris
  4. Hi, my kubota gr1600 was sat in a shed that blew down in the storms and has suffered considerable bodywork damage. Engine, gearbox etc all fine just cosmetic really. I was just wondering if anyone had the same machine with a fudged engine or gearbox sat in a corner somewhere that I could use as a donor for parts? It seems a shame to break/scrap it as it’s only done 300hrs. cheers Chris
  5. Thanks everyone, food for thought in all of this. the main reason I wanted the wider centre cut was to give the farmer a piece back as a kitchen table, he’s a family friend so was doing it as a favour. That being said I’ve a 2ft wide planer thicknesser so even if I halved the centre after I’ve run out of width I could probably get it a nice wide table as a book matched pair. I’ll have a play with what I have available. thanks again 👍🏼
  6. Yeah that’s the other option, we have a 80cm width bandsaw that lifts up to 120cm so I could do it all with that by rotating cutting, etc. I think that will be the way I’ll go would have just have been nice to get a couple if wide boards from near the centre, although I appreciate they wouldn’t be overly stable..
  7. Hi, bit of a cheeky question, a farmer friend has taken a big beech tree down and would like it milling. We have all the kit to mill it but our 47” bar just isn’t quite long enough.. I don’t suppose anyone has a 55/60” bar hung up in a garage/shed that they’d like to sell by any chance? based in Wakefield West Yorkshire but happy to cover postage. thanks Chris
  8. Where abouts are you located? I’ve got some empty seed potato bulk bags which are vented all round. They’re around 90x90x180cm so will hold about 1.5 cube. £3.50 each. Cheers
  9. Local chap near us made a homemade version of the Posch. He powdered the netting tool with his timber crane and rotator. as far as I’m aware he was thinking of selling if you’re interest I can pass on his details.
  10. As per title. looking for a hydraulic driven, chain/live log deck to run with a processor. Based in West Yorkshire but can travel within reason. Chris - 07510726133
  11. It’s a Duvelsdorf grab. Although I’ve looked on there webpage and it doesn’t look like they still make them. Very similar to the kelfri in the ops post. Couple of pictures of the diverter valve and quick coupling plugs for electric to diverter, sussy style cable to go between for boom extension and self retracts. Found ours second hand in the farmers guide, lucky find as was already on brackets to fit the machine, although 300 mile round trip to get it home..
  12. We have one similar to the Kelfri that you’ve seen but maybe slightly stronger built. It’s on a JCB 530/70 loadall, brilliant bit of kit. Use it daily, in fact it hardly ever comes off the machine. Very precise, can pick individual logs out of a pile easily, stack them back up, etc. If you get an odd log fall funny on the log deck you can pick it out and place it back on. Was dubious when we first bought it but can definitely recommend. We even use it for stacking wrapped hayledge bales (only do about 50 so not worth having a squeezer), can knock tractor tyres off beads for punctures, picking big slabs off the mill, it’s surprisinging what you can use it for what you’d never think about especially with the rotator. Ours has grab and rotator, just bear in mind you’ll need a diverter valve (unless it’s already on the grab) to run the separate services. Machines usually have a third service but that service needs to be able to supply the grab and rotator so needs splitting. We run in a cable down the boom and wired it to the horn in the cab, when you want the rotator just press the horn to divert hydraulics to the rotator, with the grab getting the undiverted flow. Hopefully that all all makes sense..
  13. We’ve just bought a second hand Roltrac which I assume is similar to the trak-met’s. Never seen a trak-met in the flesh but the roltrac certainly seems we’ll made, all seimens motors, our has planking computer so cut thicknesses can be programmed in etc. I contacted them direct in Poland and they would ship one over direct, prices were similar to the trak-met if not slightly cheaper but not sure what lead time was as we found ours second hand about 30 miles away so it was a no brainer. There’s an identical machine to ours on eBay at the moment in Goole I think it’s of interest.
  14. Another vote for the osmo stuff here too, excellent product although not cheap..
