  1. Terrifying moment car and caravan lose control and flip over on dual carriageway - Deadline News WWW.DEADLINENEWS.CO.UK TERRIFYING footage shows a car towing a caravan lose control and roll over the crash barrier at a busy dual carriageway. The caravan appears to “snake” as it is towed at...

  3. Found this while researching fuel for my old Ducati and Opel Manta turbo..(and chainsaw) as Ethanol fuel goes off quickly and causes damage to fuel lines etc... Here are details of Esso ethanol free 97 Octane (scroll down to 5th FAQ) - https://www.esso.co.uk/en-gb/fuels-faqs What is the ethanol content of your fuels? The majority of unleaded 95 Octane petrol sold in the UK contains up to 5% ethanol as required under the Government’s Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO). There is currently no requirement for renewable fuel (such as ethanol) to be present in super unleaded (97 grade petrol). Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area and Scotland). We would therefore advise anyone who has concerns about the presence of ethanol in petrol to use Synergy Supreme+ – providing they do not fill up in Devon or Cornwall, the Teesside area or Scotland. The European standard BS EN228 covers the requirements for 0-5% ethanol unleaded petrol, the labelling requirement for zero % ethanol is E5 (as is up to 5%), a E0 label doesn’t exist. We understand that this is confusing if you are looking for zero % ethanol fuel, but as advised we can confirm that our Supreme Unleaded fuel supplied in areas except those listed (Devon, Cornwall, Teeside & Scotland) is ethanol free.

  5. Heard a story the other day. Someone asked Abraham Lincoln if he had 6 hours to cut down a tree, how would he do it? He replied that he would spend 4 hours sharpening his axe before going near the tree!
  6. One of the best on the market is the Mine Lab range. Spoke to a chap on Woolacombe beach with one , cost him over £2000...but told me he found a gold ring with it, and sold it for £900...the more expensive ones can tell you if its gold/silver or scrap to quite deep depths.....but like any hobby start with something cheaper and see how you get on... 9. Remember eaves dropping on a conversation about metal detecting around old trees. The chap used google to look for suitable trees, the idea being that people over the years may have sat under them for picnics/other activities and lost coins jewellery etc. Just wondering what you may have found by trees or in trees??? I have a Garratt ACE 400 detector but not found anything of great value, but its a bit of fun to go out with your children. 17. I have noticed recently, that some of the smaller electric/hydraulic log splitters now come with a safety cage....is due to accidents with the earlier versions??
  18. This is not me...but makes me cringe every time I think about it....from a H&S prospective its easy to forget injuries are not all related to chainsaws, axes and other tools....TV were showing tree fellers working in either US or Canada...they were talking about injuries to hands, legs etc then one of them said he lost one of his balls....very big ouch..... basically the tree was down on a slope and he was cutting back the branches, while standing to the tree with chainsaw in hand, he slipped....no, injury not caused by the chainsaw between his legs but a very sharp branch stub caught him as he slid down the trunk..!!!!
  19. For the future I would use a Disk lok, the one that covers the complete steering wheel, a few years ago I lost the key, tried drilling lock/surround and failed...metal is hardened....luckily found the key before serious damage was done...
