  1. The random and coincidental part of this event is that I opened Google maps within seconds of the conversation about the takeaway. If I hadn't opened maps until tomorrow morning the relevance of the Chinese takeaway would have been lost - so maybe these voice activated keywords are also time sensitive? Going to do some random testing with carefully chosen key words to see what happens.... I'd never even given that a second thought but it makes absolute sense now you mention it. So if it were true, surely the advertisers would need to know about the service (and presumably pay for it). If that were the case, we'd probably all know about it because we ought to have been bombarded with requests to sign up to the subscription service. Worth doing some more research on this! Funny you should mention our dear friends at the Revenue Mark, you know how highly I regard those fine chaps. Got to the Chineses to collect the order, whipped out my card only to be told we only take cash - so had to leg it to the bank and retrieve a wad. Mmmmmm, high turnover, cash sales only - I'm not at all sure Hector is getting as much fold from our oriental friends as he might wish for.... ? Was following a similar thought process... That was NEVER going to slip by under the radar ? Smart TV - yes. Maybe it's the phone, maybe it's the TV. Will be looking at settings on all now!
  2. Nope, we found an old menu at the back of the drawer and were discussing phoning an order through...
  3. I'm going to drink heavily to induce calm.... ????
  4. They must have bugged the hoose! Some elements of that village sound quite attractive (a bit like Newton Abbot ?)
  5. As a very rare deviation from the usual Saturday night steak dinner we are having a Chinese takeaway. This is a totally random and exceptionally rare event - there is no routine pattern or frequency. We were just talking about ordering by phone when the conversation changed to something else that caused me to open Google street view to find a business totally unrelated to the previous discussion. Clicked the cursor in the search box, didn't type anything, but the list of suggestions that came up was as shown in the attached pic. I've never used Google maps to find the local Chinese (I already know where it is!) How is this even possible? We don't have "Alexa" or any other voice activated tech. Has Google already infiltrated our minds and our homes? I'm by no means a tin foil hat merchant but this apparent "coincidence" has pretty much freaked me out....
  6. Lynher training http://lynhertraining.com/about-us/ used to do it, not sure if that's any good - it's in Devon
  7. Drizzle, but a bit less than drizzle really. First tangible moisture in the air for about 4 weeks! Madness really
  8. Quoted, not re-posted. I'll leave it at that until you are less menopausal.
  9. I have no idea if there’s any substance, or otherwise, to it and neither did I endorse or dismiss it. I said Remoaners are some desperate - unarguably accurate and that Soubry has always given me the impression of being the wrong side of iffy, also undeniably true (esp since it’s a personal opinion and therefore above challenge.) What has struck me whilst listening to the bleeding hearts that are being bruised by such harsh words as “scum”, is that the lovely ANTIFA types are going to have to rewrite their chant book if such words are deemed inappropriate. MPs engaging in Machiavellian shenanigans - who’d ever believe that on a day when I’ve been looking at Cornish MPs expenses and +/- £200k seems to be about the mark....
  10. They'm some desperate mind them Remoaners, and she has always given me the impression of not being above some shifty shenanigans.
  11. Also, maybe try local builders - esp heritage specialists. Might be a bit piecemeal / small scale if you want the lot gone. Have you considered local agricultural auctions - again, might be a hassle carting it to sale site and no guarantee you will get a good price or end up having to cart it back. Its a sorry reflection of the apparent lack of ‘value’ of timber by those that would rather the convenience of going to a builders yard on the day they need it.
  12. Quick search, found these http://www.welmacuk.co.uk/branch_loggers.htm Will have a better look on PC later
  13. I like that! Couple questions: Can you adjust cut length? Whats max diameter stick? Green wood and deadwood OK? Who’s selling these in UK (petrol or hyd rather than PTO) Reasonably priced? Rather than chipping, what a great method of gaining pallets of ready cut small log. Like it ??
  14. And there it is in a nutshell Mr ?! They only paid them North of £500/day for that gig. No self respecting, beer bellied, fry-up eater would bother to roll out of bed for that meagre wage... Should have advertised in Poland, there'd have been a 1000 applicants for every job. Bloody Brexit, it'll be the death of us.....
  15. I like the demountable body concept - compact yet capable & versatile!
  16. It's in Rheden, NL, I used to work not far from there, I'm starting to fancy a road trip via Amsterdam - on second thoughts, better make that on the return journey in case I forget what I was going for ?
  17. I found this one: https://www.machinio.com/manufacturer/ausa?man=ausa&page=9#quickview/32397250 Which one did you see?
  18. Where aboots in Staffs are 'e? Parents in Law need a couple of Pop taken to in Kingsley and I'm not up that way any time soon. Fancy having a look at it for 'em?
  19. That's only necessary iffum you choose to integrate...
  20. And an extra webbed foot gives automatic Bard status!
  21. Got over excited and forgot to answer the other parts - like you didn’t set me up for an uncontrolled rant intentionally.... Is Cornwall in Europe? That’s a complex and emotional question Mr ? as you well know! A bit like Scotland, there are deeply entrenched elements in Cornwall that refuse to acknowledge that they are even associated with England! They (supposedly) despise the centralised imposition of government from a foreign country but in a quirky twist of paradoxical logical, embrace the EU - go figure? Youll need visas and language training before working in Cornwall, what’s on the plan? What we discussed or has something additional come up??
  22. Off topic, but I was moved to phone in to LBC this avvo after his interview this morning- didn’t get on. ?? His suggestion that art 50 be unilaterally withdrawn on the basis weme not ready has some truth / accuracy and I’d support that position iffum fat, pompous, useless pontificating mouth pieces like him and his useless bunch of supercilious Westminster cronies would acknowledge the REASON weme ‘not ready’ is entirely attributable to THEIR entrenched, assumed superiority which has resulted in their unilateral unwillingness to DO THEIR FUCKING JOB and make us ready, So yes Ken, when you pony up and admit that you and yours are the REASON weme not ready, and you hand back 2 years of salary and RESIGN in disgrace, I’ll agree with ya, weme not ready because YOU didn’t do your job. (Steps down from soap box to the resounding sound of rapturous applause and a standing ovation....)
  23. ? Company appears to be Spanish. This whole bloody Brexit nonsense is gonna bollox any potential there might have been right up! Bloody little Englanders will be the doom of us all! Never has Ken Clark talked so much sense - bin art 50, ignore the will of the plebiscite. I’m all in for Europe now since there’s a minor personal interest that obviously supersedes any wider, broader, national / international considerations....
  24. Agreed, difficult to judge the relative scale. It ‘appears’ to present a valid challenge to the cabstar level and waseezs all over the transit class. Maybe a contender for the perennial driving licence V over loading scenario (depending on how it measures up on price and driver class). I bet the price will kill it - only LAs and European LAs (equivalents) would be daft enough to part with tax payers money to buy ‘em.
