  1. True, obv’s K, but.... Like LR ceasing production of the Defender wasn’t intended to hyper inflate the late 2nd hand market, but it still did. Supply, demand, timing and associated circumstance. The ‘decent’ thing to do would have been the uplift clause. They tried it on and got rumbled.
  2. Bloody hell, paraphrasing the Mitford dynasty.... That’s a bit of a shocker. I was chatting to a geez last night who was incredibly sage. I’d seen him in the gym earlier and admired his exceptional skipping skills. Black guy, failed boxer but reinvigorating his former ambitions via white collar boxing. We had the whole ‘glass’ conversation. I’m a bit - there’s a glass, what you do with it is up to you sort of person. He was more of a - keep bringing the glasses and I’ll keep filling them sort of character. Up shot was, we went from 11PM TO 3AM in what seemed like the blink of an eye, I’ve felt like shit all day, barely managed to drag myself off the sun lounger and beer feels like a pint of broken glass tonight.
  3. Hells teeth Mr C, are you a glass half empty kind of guy? Firstly, I had no idea who Teela Brown was (still don’t) so Googled it (but mistyped as Tesla Brown and the first hit was Joshua Brown (Tesla test driver) first recorded fatality of ‘autopilot’ motor vehicle accident. I’m guessing he’d agree that you make your own luck - if he was still alive and able to make a contribution. But - “...luck, like happiness, is overrated...” Have you had a bad day? How can happiness be overrated? The only way I could get anywhere near that is by considering the cataclysmic hangover I’ve nursed all day as a consequence of my uncharacteristic over indulgence at the bar last night. But that’ll be gone by tomorrow and I’ll be back on form. Im a miserable bastard at the best of times but even I’d stop short of stating happiness is overrated.
  4. That was a lucky spot and entirely appropriate to amend the sale price (I’m guessing it was pre-exchange of contract) since the ‘value’ of what was being placed on the market had materially / significantly increased.
  5. It was overhanging branches Mark. They have the opportunity to present valid arboricultural reasons to object to the application but a decent app with reasonable proposals and sound justification kind of negates that. They could refuse access, if it is required, but access to neighbouring land act can be used if necessary.
  6. Anyone can submit an application Mr B, regardless of what the tree owner wants / thinks. Ive just done one where the tree owner (Trustees of a private cemetery) are known hostiles. It was all the better for knowing they would (if they could) have wanted to prevent the works. ?
  7. There we have the benefit of sharing ?? The tree owner never wanted the app to be approved and is happy (after putting their case direct to the TO and canvassing neighbours to forward objections) that it was refused. If the neighbour or the tree owners ins co submitted a subsequent TPO app now, it’d likely similarly fail on the precedent of the preceding one - unless they seriously ramped up the supporting evidence. If either did get a successful app approval BUT the tree owner declined to have the work done to their tree then liability would rest with the tree owner for any future damage. This is one has been fun.
  8. I’m pretty clear in my mind, but just wanted to sanity check with the AT massive.... As I read it, only the applicant can appeal a TPO decision (within 28 days of the DN) by a LA. There doesn’t appear to be a route for a 3rd party to do so. (I don’t read that a meaning a representative of the applicant cannot act on their behalf - that kind of goes without saying - but rather that a person other than the tree owner (when the tree owner is the applicant) cannot appeal a decision when an application has been submitted by the tree owner. The scenario: Neighbour registers a notice with tree owner that tree is causing subs. Supporting arb report is sketchy at best. Tree owners ins co requires tree owner to fell (typically risk averse course of least resistance) Tree owner (reluctantly) acquiesces to ins co requirement and submits TPO app to fell LA refuse (quite rightly) Tree owner is content but seems to anticipate an appeal from neighbour to LA I don’t think there is a route for this - not sure who has given this impression to tree owner. (I’m not involved in any of this other than as an interested observer)

  10. I thought he was going to mention charcoal ??
  11. “They” (the man, the system, the illuminati, the capitalist elite) are programming the population stupid to pave the way for the robot armies that will subdue the masses! ”They” don’t want anything fixed by the minions, nuffin is made to last or suitable for repair. It’s all use and toss it away. Buy again. Within a couple of generations we seem to have gone from make / fix / mend / repair to buy / bin / buy again. Where will it end? Next thing you know they’ll be more ropes than climbers in the tree ?
  12. If it ends up with EU cultural grant funding they’ll probably end up doubling (and getting) grant aid at those figures. Simple recipe: Take a task (any task), Add public sector bullshit, Bureaucracy and bluster, Sprinkle with ineptitude, lack of accountability, flexible working and a twist of corruption, Seek grant funding from another equally inept organisation (esp EU), Mix well to blur any lines of accountability, Bake for just long enough for those involved to be rewarded with great accolade and civic distinction before it is realised how over schedule and over budget the scheme actually is, And there you have it! Same shit, different project!
  13. Don’t panic ??s! Found it..... ????
  14. It's "extension" rather than "suspension" ? he is (currently) obliged to do so thanks to the Remoaners in parliament. I shouldn't read too much into that though.... It'd be like me saying "...I'm going to 'ask' ??s to give me a million pounds..." I can 'ask' for what ever comes into my head but there's very little chance that anyone would (a) believe that I meant it or (b) that I'd have any expectation that you'd do it....
  15. Who’d have thunk it..... another potentially anti Semitic, racist, bigoted, radical Left wing “coincidence” in the Labour Party under its most unpopular leader (-60) EVER... No wonder there’s no general election. Jewish MP who criticized Corbyn faces Labour no confidence motion on Yom Kippur WWW.TIMESOFISRAEL.COM Debate calling for Louise Ellman's resignation scheduled for eve of holy day; Jewish Labour Movement:...
  16. What IS Right wing ??s? - A points based immigration system -An increase in National Minimum and Living wage. - Raising the personal allowance for income tax - abolition of inheritance tax - Brexit If that is Right wing, I’m in, sign me up. Don’t sound too radical to me.
  17. Can you even define what a "Right wing ideal" is Mark? If so, could you provide any example of a "Right wing ideal" that I have espoused? Or is it just your personal interpretation? If you could present any example or justification for your assumption it might be possible to debunk it. As it is, you are making assumptions / statements which are entirely unfounded.
  18. Nobody mentioned Right or Left Mark. That is entirely irrelevant. The point is that the BBC, via Panorama, via John Sweeney, set out to victimise and demonise an individual and they got their fingers burned. Comment on the inappropriate nature of the attempted set up it you like (if you can), but Right and Left have nothing to do with it.
  19. It's not so much "todays" news, but I've just seen it today. The consequences are of todays news though... SWIFT EXIT: John Sweeney Leaves BBC Following ‘Fake News’ Allegations WWW.POLITICALITE.COM BBC PANORAMA reporter John Sweeney has been reportedly forced to leave the BBC following an... Talk about Rogue Traders. John Sweeney binned from the BBC Panorama after Fake News exposé by Tommy Robinson: It's an hour, but it's worth it. You know what, has John Sweeney been binned from Panorama? Yes or No? Even the pathological haters of TR ought to open their minds, overcome their own paralysis and ignorance and look to the facts. John Sweeney, the BBC - exposed.
  20. It defies logic that any one person could be so (repeatedly) inept without there being some coincidence.
  21. It's simply a case of a retort rich environment Mr T ? Sooooo, much readily available material ?
  22. I’ll wait til end of the month to pass comment.... on reflection, you could have chicken stock for Corbyn since he’s afeared of a general election or vegetable stock for Abbott for obvious reasons...
  23. Or.... Its farming, so it’ll be spent in the local economy so it’s all good..... ?
