  1. We run this schiesling it's about 5-6inch and is powered either by the 24hp (once upon a time) kubota or on a 115hp deutz. When on the big tractor it just keeps going on the kubota you have to let the revs pick back up on longer branches etc but it is old school without stress control gadgets!

    Jcb 8017

Might be a silly suggestion my p10 has an adjustable valve on the pipe make sure that's open. When new ours struggled to lift the weight (jcb8015) applied plenty of spray on grease and moved it with post driver nearly flat to help it get going. Another thing it does is not lift the weight and plate if only 1 chain attached as it pulls it of square and binds. Been using ours all day but did struggle with 8ft x 8inch strainers!
  3. Bought a stihl single sided thinking I'd get done quicker with longer cutter but hated it, with a conventional double sided you cut on up and down stroke so to speak and get a better finish, with single sided your always working one way and hedges grow all sorts of directions especially something like laurel. Think that all made sense!
  4. We've also got a parmiter but the single sided one. Have replaced all manual adjustments with hydraulic rams and spool block mounted next to the mast to make it easier.
  5. Was an ex-hire machine and they came from jcb that colour, want to paint all yellow but the whole main frame is blue so to do a proper job it's a big strip down. Missing panels are to check for leaks as just had main spool block stripped to find a fault.
  6. Based Warwickshire direction so protech weren't too far away. Yes does wobble lots but think that's down to digger bushes needing replacing, once you get going and driver is all vertical things go better. Our problem is you have to be working at nearly full reach to get it on the post in the first place.
  7. It's a digger and we do arb work with it so does it qualify? Got a grip talon to fit but want a mechanical grapple to save the back. Don't think it would have lifted this though!
  8. Just got one of these from protech. Really saves time and effort knocked these 6ft stakes to about 2ft as a retaining wall- easier than digging! Do struggle setting up though but suppose we'll get quicker.
  9. Agree with sharpening angles, new blades made so much difference after someone sharpened the old ones wrong. If you are having trouble with it drawing in check springs that tension roller, if yours is the same as mine there should be a pair.
  10. Making life easier
  11. But they're not proper tractors!
  12. Goes even better behind 115hp!
  13. Prehistoric kubota conifer bashing with schiesling chipper and 25hp!
  14. Think it's Cornus thingy can't remember which though.
  15. Try Greenline plants on 01564703947 or 01564700152 ask for Alan or Bernie. They'll sort you out and can organise delivery, we've used them for 4m plus and always good quality. Make sure you get trade discount and price will be competitive too!
  16. Seems to be a lot of overgrown lawns and fields this year done a 2 acre lawn today but managed to get the tractor in! Keep mulching it up on a dry day and comes out ok. Used flail collectors on football pitches in the past but again does a better/easier job on a sunny day.
  17. Just bought the new Grazon pro from Countrywide (was MSF) about £35 a bottle so def still available.

    roller mower

We run a teagle (berti) flail mower topper. Brilliant machine, run it on the back of 115hp tractor though. Have mown playing fields regularly as well as cutting down 6ft bramble or old hay crops! Side shift very usefull to lessen wheel markings or work around obstacle and under fences.
  19. Our blades were done 'professionally' too but not at the same angle as the new ones that finally made an improvement!
  20. Had something similar with our schliesing ended up being wrong angle on the cutting edge of the blades, rollers were trying to push wood into body of the blade not cutting edge. Just a thought as you mentioned you'd changed the blades
  21. we made one similar after trawling you tube! watch the logs don't ride up over that wedge, mine has a slight lean now after too much pressure and the logs have started jumping out the top. Angle the two horizontal wedges so they spread away from the centre so the wood has somewhere to go. Hope that makes sense!
  22. have you tried bleeding it the other way round, forcing the fluid in through the bleed nipple. works a treat on stubborn systems we use a bottle with a rubber tube drilled into the lid with a tubeless tyre valve drilled into the base, stick pipe over nipple hold bottle upside down and pump up with footpump (not too much!) wait till no bubbles appear in reservoir but watch it doesn't overflow.
