  1. the more slippery the better just don't get it where the wire attaches the fuel line will slip 0ff:thumbdown:
  2. so you like the video then Mike simple ideas are always the best:thumbup:
  3. here is a quick video of the tool in use as you can see it can be difficult to use hemostats because of the position of the fuel lines and the shape of the tank being a u shape [ame] [/ame]
  4. the strimmer mentioned would be very difficult to do with hemostats as the fuel lines are the opposite end of fuel tank to the filler you need to get a good amount of fuel pipe in the tank to be able to get a grip on it my way you pull the pipe thought the tank out though the hole then you can grab from the outside i have done it with hemostats but you run the risk of ripping the fuel pipe hence i made this simple device i am not the first to make this i have seen the idea used on youtube so not shore who invented it
  5. OK FUEL LINE TOOLS (HOMEMADE ) length of stainless wire folded in half then attach a recoil handle job done then to use thread the wire through the fuel line hole in the tank then fish it out the filling hole cut fuel line at a angle thread it though the loop now lube the fuel line and pull very gently back though the tank when the line shows out of the tank fuel line hole grab with pointed pliers and pull job done
  6. forgot to say cut the fuel line at a angle:blushing: i will take a pic of the tools i have made very easy
  7. easy if you have a fuel line installer if not get a piece of thin wire put it in the hole for the fuel line then fish it out of the filler hole attach fuel line to the wire lube the outside of the line then pull the line out of the fuel line hole very slowly it can be a pig sometimes
  8. not shore if it's Andys wife or daughter but the ebay shop is operating under a new name items in store on eBay!
  9. any one having trouble logging in to henton & chattel i get the message 3 failed attempts locked out till 00:00:00 any one else getting this i have also tried to get a password reset email and not received it? get all my other mail ok
  10. got 2 of the kt12s if you are interested so the sic1 module did the trick on the spark yes you can test condensers but you need a tester for this or try the capacitance range on a multimeter if your meter has this range
  11. Hi Mike if you want the video of the kv tester pm me your email and i will send you a copy it show it being used to test a chainsaw if i remember correctly also i see you like kt12 kwacker engines i have 2 for spares / repairs i am going to list them on fleebay later
  12. RE: peak kv testing here is a video it is based on motorbike diagnostics but this unit works with any ignition system [ame] [/ame] this is the other one i use as it is quick and simple to use one wire to ht lead other to good earth Gunson - GCP7870G Peak KV Tester.
  13. i normally disconnect the points and fit a tci unit to trigger the coil for some reason i get a better spark with the tci unit and no points to mess with if you have a Kawasaki with a separate igniter try this disconnect the wire from the points to the coil attach the wire to the spade connector on the igniter make shore it has a good earth connection i do this on flymos with points as the coil is under the flywheel first pic is a sic 1 second pic is a nova 2 both work the same way
  14. how are you testing for spark just using a spark plug or proper spark tester? i use a b/s spark tester & stihl spark tester i also have peak kv tester to measure voltage at plug with this you can check reserve voltage to allow for air mixture inrush when you open the throttle as this can cause problems if you do not have enough reserve voltage
  15. i have some spares if you need anything give me a shout:thumbup1:
  16. got the saw from customer turns out it was only the screw lose where the choke rod attaches to the carb just thread locked it to see if it holds could not find the carb on randys ebay site import tax can be a problem but you take your chance the handling charge is a rip off one item cost £3.95 import and £15 handling fee as it was passed to fedex to deliver they invoiced me for the customs import tax and added the £15 handling fee to deliver it hopefully should be sorted:thumbup1: thanks to all who tried to help bill

  19. carb cleaner will damage check valves brake cleaner will not as easily cause damage
  20. sounds like it will need a good ultrasonic clean if you have tried other means of cleaning try low pressure ( no more then 10 psi ) compressed air with a little brake cleaner (carb cleaner is to strong for these little carbs ) if this fails then it's ultrasonic time also don't for get a new diaphragm & gasket kit
  21. any one got a zama m45 rotary carb for a mcCulloch gladiator550 hedge trimmer? customer stripped the carb and lost some bits now he wants me to rebuild it
  22. it's missing a bolt the carb my be a walbro parts ar difficult to get now as tecumseh went bust in 2008 there are after market carbs but they are crap and the parts will not fit the original carbs as tecumseh sued the makers for breach of copyright so they had to slightly change there copy's to get around this bill
  23. will it do the same when you use it on the side i had a echo with a leaking crank seal that did this when pointing up or on it's side may be a possibility of a crank seal leaking
