  1. I've worked with ex forces on the railway, some seriously hard workers out there and not worried about the weather on the whole Lol. Some did there training at Kingswood, in Kent. Kingswood do a kinda residential for a whole raft of tickets. Give em a ring. Its a good place to learn. It can be very hard work depending on how your wired, but very satisfying. Scott Fraser Training also provide a very very good level of training and expertise, not sure about any residential capacity though again give him a ring an ask.
  2. Hi Harry, I'm in Kent and carry out LOLER inspections. Paperwork isn't always essential. What is is what general use conditions are, how you maintain it etc. Labels of some nature help with ID, age and first outing etc.
  3. Any training increasing the metabolism, high intensity short bursts. Maintain a good balanced intake of food and burn more food energy than you put it. As a tree man you’ll have a good metabolic rate anyway. 3 1 hr sessions a week or every other day with a days rest in between. Depending on how much you’ve done in the past or do now, along with what you decide you want. Need all over body conditioning mixed with Cardio to keep red blood cell production up and oxygen intake at its most efficient. I love training, and climbing when I get the opportunity. Life and work open up some amazing doors, closing others just not completely thankfully. Lol.
  4. Working nights is not great, especially when it’s cold, wet, windy and slippery. Good lighting and good weather appropriate clothing is absolutely essential.

  5. I believe in safe Kit for climbing and rigging. Good kit will give you a safe climb and significantly lessons the risk of injury due to faulty kit. A network rail mono is:- “everyone home safe every day”, should this not be the Arb industry too?? I carry out LOLER Inspections, on many kits. Providing a cert and pass & failure notice.

  6. Like the rigging solutions, very efficient 😎
  7. I've done a couple courses with Scott, and have no doubt it is money well spent, and the instruction is excellent alongside His own working practices. Commercial and private.
  8. Good climb, Epping forest has some beech and hornbeam like that.
  9. Hello there, My experience of cherry's is they don't seem to like being cut back at any level at any time, best time is may-June ish. Check with council highways or planning to be on the safe side and get an email response or something in writing if you want to replace or remove what you might consider a 'dangerous tree', you can then move forwards. They will have a maintenance contract within or externally to deal with things like this.
  10. Lombardy Pop, not the most stable at the best of times.. Making sure you got a safe and stable anchor point always key. Good job done there👍and the sun appears to be out😜
  11. All the rigging ropes have its load rating on a printed label at the end of the rope if new, they quickly come off however when in frequent use, one of the reasons for frequent LOLER examinations, it should have its capacity and SWL, on information sheets that would be with the product on purchase.
