  1. An other vote for husky 372xp here, thinking about buying an other one to keep as a spare while you still can, 346xp close 2nd.
  2. I got info from, safety at street works and road works, a code of practice. ISBN 978-0-11-551958-1, £7.50. I think it was called the purple book, the blue book is every thing, sign specs, road marking, etc, ifirc.
  3. If your using traffic control your lead in taper can be at 45°, with the cones 1.2m apart, then the cones down the job Max of 9m apart with a min of 2 used and then a exit taper. If your not using traffic control ie enough room for both lanes of traffic to pass still it depends on the width of your closure to length of taper and number of cones, 31 to 40 mph single carriage way 1m wide 20m taper 4 cones, 2m wide 40m taper 6 cones on so on. All exit tapers 45° and 1.2m spacing.
  4. Max spacing of 9m between cones, min of 2 cones between the tapers.
  5. It just about sums it up the govement/people in charge put 2 difference but close related qualifications with the same name just to confuse us all.
  6. The driver cpc will be needed if you drive professionally, wether the truck is on a restricted, standard national, or international o licence. If your delivering goods, you own or some one else your classed as professional driving, the exemptions are if you when you drive its incidental, not part of your job as such, driving the truck to site with the kit on then back at night. On dcpc courses the example they give are scalfolders driving to site then putting scafold up, but driving to site dropping the scafold off and not putting it up, would need a dcpc.

As stated above NO operator cpc needed on restricted o licence, driver cpc (dcpc) needed after sept 2014 if you want to drive commercialy, what i`ve read you wont lose your heavy goods licence after that date just not able to drive commercialy, there will be certian exemptions to dcpc. Again cant be 100% sure but driving say a large (3.5t+) chip truck to site doing tree work for the day then taking truck and chips back to yard should be ok with no dcpc, but using the same truck and delivering a load of logs you`ve sold would need a dcpc. I`ll try and dig out where i`ve read about exemptions and post a link for reference.
  8. You should be able to insure it using the serial number of the machine, I know nfu accepted serial number on my excavator.
