  1. Thanks again to spudulike for tips on my chain saw problem.Hooked the fuel line out of the tank, removed fuel filter and gave it a good clean and blast.Reassemble and it works a treat,so pleased. Thanks again and what a great forum this is.
  2. Thanks for your reply, lots of options and hope one of them does the trick. Thanks again.
  3. Help required Please on my chainsaw,Makita DCS34.It started losing power as though choked up so changed the air which was very clogged up.Thought it was sorted but used it today and ran okay for twenty seconds and then started dying on full revs.Knock the revs off and it ticks over fine.Any ideas please and thanks for your time.
  4. How many spark plugs do you expect to use on a seasons cutting using a Honda GC engine.Say from March till October.Thank you for all your input into my mower problem,it is greatly received.
  5. Yes I did fit a new plug when I started using it again unless this one has gone by the wayside too.My next mower will certainly not be a Honda.Bag of crap springs to mind.
  6. Thanks very much for your input, some good points to look for and will be looking at the weekend.Put a new air filter on last weekend but still played up.Ended up getting out the electric flymo which took ages and I hate messing around moving cables etc.
  7. I have a Honda Izzy 5.5hp which I bought new looking at the plate 2004.Ran fine for 3 years then started cutting out after 5mins use.Back in the shed it went and started using older mower Mounfield with Honda engine.GV100.Put a second hand ignition coil on couple of years ago to keep it running but it has died now.Back to the Honda izzy we went and started first pull.Used about three times and started chugging and then packed up.Plug all sooted up so cleaned it and off went.Ten minutes on cut out and all sooted up again.Messed with screws, new plug etc and started again and now chugging and big back firing shooting flames.Switched off and now any idea's would be very much appreciated.I was going to have the carb off next and give it a check over. Thanks for looking.
  8. I have had tinnitus since I was 20 years old and I am now 63.It started when i worked in a lace factory,no ear defenders provided so after a while I bought my own.I was the only one wearing them in the factory.I worked there for only two years but the damage was done.I have worked in the building trade for the last 30 years and my hearing is not good in the other ear.Stihl saw use and using sds drills have done the damage I believe.I do where ear defenders now but fear its to late.
  9. Velux roof lights have different flashing kits as to what tiles or slates you are using. Also if concrete ties bottom edge needs to be certain distance from top of tile. These should be explained in instructions.
  10. Green woodpecker came to the garden and stopped for about three minutes so its camera time. Not a common sight and when you do its on the wing.
  11. Are there not cctv systems that ring your mobile when the camera sets in to play.Just need a shot gun with you.Farmer near us was done end of last year and have had that sort of system fitted.
  12. I have helped in putting flue liners in from the roof. Some go in easy but if you have a bend in the brick flue it can be a nightmare.Like having to go in the attic and chop out brickwork to assist it going through to the required position.
  13. Been to quite a few over the years and the entrance fee has become a stupid price.
  14. Stand corrected,Friday gate £35 and Sat/Sunday£30.Prebooked tickets saving £1 whoopee.
