  1. I know ive posted similar links before but this to me was a ridiculous price. Native Waney Edge CHERRY Boards / Hardwood timber Solid wood Feature shelves | eBay
  2. There are a growing number of green wood workers creating 'Bodger Groups' out there who would love to get their hands on a steady supply of green wood, check out https://www.bodgers.org.uk/ for local groups in your area. In answer to your question I love working with cherry and English oak so if you have any interesting bits knocking about i'll be happy to take them off your hands
  3. Ive never understood why it hasn't taken off nationwide, theres the odd seller up here but nothing major.
  4. Thought that was just when sanding it, the spores in the dust?
  5. Whats the wood like to work? Ive been offered some sequoia but have never used it before.
  6. well that was easier than I though
  7. That will look great when it oiled up. Ive just done a spalted beech serving board and if I do say so myself looks the mutts nuts. Once ive figured out how to upload photos i'll put it up so you can see how it looks.
  8. Very kind offer indeed, hopefully I might have sorted something that fits my full wish list.
  9. Sorry dude, your obviously so Northern its affected your sense of humour, if it'll make you feel better i'll label myself a midlander, hope that makes you sleep better.
  10. I bought a few of these boards a few weeks ago, the grain pattern is definitely different to the English oak boards I had bought previously, not much character to them but they were cheapish and obviously not very sustainable if your bothered about that kind of thing.
  11. The lengths don't matter, its the width and thickness that are important, but id say minimum 50cm lengths. Im in Worksop Notts, proper northern like
  12. The seller is knocking out timber faster than they can plane it by the looks of it and making a fortune.
  13. Don't get me wrong its good stuff, bought a few lengths last week but no where near this price, is it the width that makes it so desirable?
  14. Cheers for reply guys but postage will kill me shipping from Sussex.
  15. I know this is seasoned and planed both sides but I thought this was a ridiculous price WANEY EDGE OAK BOARDS /HARDWOOD TIMBER/CRAFTS/DIY(20)(length 1216mm) | eBay, please correct e if im wrong.
  16. Anyone selling any seasoned cherry, oak, beech, sycamore or elm planks? preferably with both waney edges, minimum width 20cm, thickness 1inch - 2inch, the flatter the better (would be a godsend if planed both sides). Realise its a big ask but you don't get if you don't ask
  17. Sorry for hijacking this thread but if hedgesparrow is not interested in managing the chestnut coppice I am. Im a self employed coppice worker, who ironically lives in Worksop, and Im looking for my a wood to coppice.
  18. Is the HCC course the same as the Myerscough offered course?
  19. So have we got a definitive answer on this yet? Does the HCC course get you the theory side of the RFS Cert (I know there are practical units to do before you get the full RFS Cert). I started the RFS Cert through Myerscough online last September but had to pull out in March this year due to personal problems. I had totally underestimated how much time was needed to fullfill the criteria for each module. Im looking at the HCC one as you have 2 years to complete it rather than the 1 year with Myerscough.
  20. This guys not messing about is he, jeez, 3 mins to carve a name plate
  21. Theres a guy on here, Ian Leach, he's doing some great carving. Im sure he will give you a few pointers.
  22. Im not doubting you chap but considering hedgelaying can only be done between September and March your master hedgelayer will have to be laying 15 metres of hedge a day at £15 per metre 7 days a week for the whole 7 months to earn £50k a year.
