  3. HI All, We have a project and need a 90hp + tractor, flail and operator to mow down some disused playing fields. One is in Deal, Kent One is in Isle of Sheppey Is anyone interested or know anyone? It is only grass / weeds but it is tough going, a standard ride on flail will not do it Thanks Lee
  4. Hi, we can help, if you email me a spec / map of the location i can send you some prices and info on applying for a road closure , [email protected] regards lee
  5. Stop works is acceptable, however has very little requirement for signage so makes is dangerous for operative and traffic, most LA's don't let you use them, they favour stop/go with proper signage, but for 1 limb, 1 tree, no reason why not!
  6. If you are from south Hampton our charge for 2way lights inc setup n all signage is £270 for 24hrs, or £360 for a week. regards, [email protected]
  7. Hi, we are a TM company, the quotes listed above are about right, where abouts are you in the country?
  8. great post, if the need arises ill use! Thanks
  9. Hi, Your issue may actually be the grass its self, as it was left to go scrubby, Meadow grass may have taken hold, this is wider, lusher and grows 10x faster than normal grass, If you have meadow grass no mater what mower you buy, or if you collect it will still grow at a rate of knots! If it is a big issue and you dont want to spend a fortune on new mowers id suggest using a growth regulator, this will slow the grass growth down. Commercially it is used on steep banks so that people dont have to put operatives on them and endanger their lives more than is necessary. Primo Maxx Growth Regulator | Growth Regulators | Pitchcare Shop See above website for growth regultor, £90, job done CBB
  10. TreeQuip, It may be that some councils require the person doing the works (Not the TM company) to apply for the permit, some councils do allow an 'on behalf of application' but most dont. CBB
  11. Hey Guys! The advise given is correct, you will have to contact the local council to request traffic lights in the road, some TM companies point blank refuse to apply for permits, whilst it is the case that sometimes we (TM companies) arnt allowed to apply for them (it must be the primary contractor) WE would always help our clients fill out the paperwork! Some councils do not operate a permitting system, but you MUST notify them and receive permission to erect traffic lights in the road. And a wise move that you are going to employ a Tm company as you do have to be qualified to put lights out. If you want any more info PM me! CBB
  12. Thanks! Chunk will be looking older than me until he shaves his beard off! No problem about the lights, hope the guys staying onsite all day helped! Ill get back to you about that road closure later on today by email. CBB
  13. HI Guys, We operate a TM company, the legal side of the coin from the TM side will be.. 1. were the guys trained under NSWRA 1991 to use stop boards? 2. did you notify or have highways permission to implement TM? 3. Was the site set out to the standard in Chapter 8? I would say if the answer to any of the above is no then i would just leave it, otherwise it could come back and bite you! (bit like the old home owner beating up the burglar, but the burglar being the victim!) If you want any more advice PM me, if you let me know your site layout ill be able to tell me what you should've had out TM wise. Likewise if anyone else wants any advice PM me, advice is always free!! CBB
  14. it is a full on driving test, carried out from a HGV test center so they are pretty strict! i failed mine twice for normal driving errors, and i thought i was a good driver! My advice would be to get some lessons to go with it

  17. we had to claim for a broken window ( a huge one!) caused by stone from strimmer a year back. First question from insurance company...did the user have a risk assessment? us.....of course he did! insurance.......ur not covered then, youve done all you can so we wont cover that. us.....so if we hadnt done a risk assessment? Insurance......well thats in breach of H&S so your policy would be invalid us.......well that bull **** the long and the short, after argueing that all of what we do is risk assessed so ill cancel my policy if ull never pay out, after a month of argueing they paid out....minus vat and excess!
  18. Yes we cover Essex , good rates and good service!
  19. Hi Guys! It seems to be coming up on quite a few threads lately that people have jobs on that are close to a roads and are enquiring about the needs & legality of Traffic Management. We have guys trained in TM for the work that we carry out (vegetaion & Arb), if we were to put a TM service together for the Arbs of Kent would anybody be interested? I.e we supply a spec and price to supply and maintain the TM for the duration of your job, ensuring that you and the public are safe and managed correctly! TM installed by people who know the arb industry well, we know arb, and we know TM....seems like a plan to me! We cover SE London, Kent (possibly surrey and Essex if the job is big enough!) Plus we armt into job stealing so be rest assured we wont be quoting on tree work your asking us to TM! Chat here or PM me for Details
