  1. Enemy at the gates, based roughly on a sniper battle in stalingrad, also used in the Call of duty game. The Big Red One, 80's classic. The Dirty Dozen. My all time favorite WHERE EAGLES DARE!!! Even Steven Spielberg rates as his No.1 war film.
  2. I did all tests after working in industry for a few years and if anything I left the college more dangerous. But as far as I understand you can have a refresher day on most tickets with a qualified instructor just breezing through it, be best to check though.
  3. Stubby, mate that sounds rough!! Sorry to sound rude, do you still have your arm??
  4. Nice, did you get any pics?? Sounds weird I know but I'd quite like to see a knee lol I had a scots pine needle go through my visor get rather infected
  5. Cheers rossy, hopefully it gets better with time. W6cloggs, ouch mate yet again is it worse in colder weather?? You have to laugh timber boy, it only happens when your unprotected. Any severe damage?? All the best with recovering quickly!! I had a mate stump grinding in jeans luckily he moved to see what was bouncing the head about as a lump of cast iron shot through the guard went between his legs and through a tonne bag of sand!!
  6. Excellent, thankyou. Think I'll be spending the weekend digging out the c.v. Do I have to get the ball rolling visa wise first or is it best to have a job offer first??
  7. That was all before my time and how could i criticise on your views whatever my opinion, everyones entitled to their own. And besides far to complex for me to understand. Arb show looks like it's stepping back up this year, should be a weekend full of shiny things and beer hopefully i'll make the journey!!
  8. Ouch!! I hope things get better sounds like you've had enough troubles!! I'm only 22 so was in my prime after six years, sucked it wasn't a tree related injury, it would of made me feel slightly better in a weird way. I've been looking into NZ but struggling to find which visa's to apply for and all the legal jargon. Google takes me in loops. As for the xmas scrap it's almost a tradition, 3 weeks off..... got to be sore somehow
  9. Prefered the first video, the way he described it sought of voiced my opinion. Not enough kids climb trees these days. I remember growing up especially summer holidays never being on the ground. I guess modern technology has stripped the imagination of youth, far easier to play a console.
  10. I wonder if his mum knows what he's up to...... serious respect for that though!!
  11. this is the back break the discs are supposed to be parallel ish
  12. Cheers guys, Wow Jesse been in the wars. I got 6 titanium rods and several screws holding the back together they also found a broken rib from a couple of years ago quite close to puncturing lung. Think it was the classic bail out the back of chip box onto the jockey wheel. Tally of 15 breaks on the nose, a little twisted now. The feet are the worst part it's silly but you don't realise how much you take them for granted, I spent a bit of time in hospital with guys far worse than myself and the mindset is the hardest part to conquer. As for physio Rossy they were supposed to provide it from day 1 needless to say none received. I'll be looking into private tomorrow. Do you get trouble with the ankle in colder weather?? Was spiking any easier??
  13. Hi all, Long story short, came out a second story window Feb 15th and fell about 35ft onto concrete. I broke my right heel into 3 different pieces, left ankle shot into top of foot and splintered, my back L2 broke a corner off and L3 squashed. Doctors said if it wasn't for my work boots (god bless Haix) i'd of lost feet completely. With the extent of damage I was told that I probably wouldn't walk again. 3 months later and a few bits of metal i'm getting about on crutches Just wondered if anyone else has had similar injuries or known anyone who has that's got back into climbing?? Any feedback would be appreciated, Mikey D
  14. Hi all, Firstly super jealous of you dude sounds like you're having an amazing time. You're living the Arb dream. Nice to see so much positive feedback Always wanted to make the trip to NZ but I've never (no matter how long i search) found any sites with the info for finding job vacancies and which visa to apply for. Would anyone be able to lend some advice on where to look?
  15. Cheers all for the suggestions, ended up taking one of the bigger lorries filled it. And crawled our over loaded butts home pmsl Will bear these in mind for the future. Cheers again guys :-D Mike.
  16. Hi all, Bit late to put it up but here goes. Heading into the depths of Portsmouth tomorrow from Bornemouth to dismantle some cherries. Due to drivers on holiday we're not sure if we'll have the transit or not. Having a low chip capacity it would be a slight ball ache having to run back and forth all day so was wondering is there anyone willing to have some chip and a few logs?! Cheers, Mike.
  17. awesome where abouts is the shop?! and do they have a website?!
  18. Hey all, Slim chance I know but here goes. Last summer was working with a chilean climber in the shaftesbury area by the name of Andreas Tapia. Didn't turn up one day and no one has heard anything from him since. Tried calling but must have changed numbers or something If anyone knows the man tell him I say hi and to get in touch lol Cheers, Mike
