  1. I know there out there, when I talk to the young lads on the phone they all sound so keen. They all say how they want to make it in this game, I wanted the same when I was at college so grateful when my old boss took me on. When the right one come along it will be worth it for both me and him.
  2. Even though you didn't say sorry I get where you are coming from, I think. Sorry to hear you had to work late and carry the idle little sod on your back. To think if I was your Groundy you would of finished early the customer may possably of gave us a score to share as we had worked so hard. Even if I did look like a bell end jogging back from the chipper!!!! Would rather be richer and home earlier the respect of the gang for work my butt off gave it 100% all day and look like a bell end jogging than late home peeed off part of a gang that can't get a job on time, still full of energy at 7pm as done no graft, oh and the rest of the gang thinking I was lazy twerp.
  3. This is my point, there is NO boy. They're are all work shy dossers. Jogging back from the chipper aside, they don't get that two hands means more than one branch etc. They live with their parents rent free and don't really need to work. Social will sort them out. Now I am not stereo typing and I am 100% sure that there are loads of you teens wanting to work hard! I am just yet to find one? I'm not looking for them I get approached from the local college. Run of bad luck with them, had enough and posted this thread. Never have I moaned. Bout an individual. Please get you facts right before you make your multiple posts without read what I have put. Cheers
  4. Not really I was asked if I had been bullied and that was my reply I didn't start the derail. So yeah good one for jumping in on the top of this page not checking out the previous posts. Sure your not the only guilty one. Sucker punch:001_tt2:
  5. Yes shut it down then we can go get back to who makes the best chipper and which is better stihl or husky. I have no problem with you lot having a go calling me a bully, douch ,cock watcher blah blah knock me out, sue me tell me where to go etc I'm older enough to take it for what it is. If the guy you were working for asked you to stay late would you threaten to kill him?. I was under the impression this is what happened on a discussion forum.
  6. I haven't threatened anyone just answering a question about bulling. Sorry if it came across like that. Thanks for calling me a douch and for being so narrow minded that as soon as mma was mention you whole take on this non mma topic was turned on it head. I am obviously expecting to much from the young lads. Can't believe how this has got so many people up in arms.
  7. Not bullied Felix, the young guy is not getting teat like crap. Maybe I could treat him really well and get him straight up nice 100 ft dead oak beside a busy a road. Seeing as it so disrespectful to ask him to hurry it along on him empty handed return. He is being asked to do what he can, only jogging back I really don't see the problem. Think this is one of those time where I wished I had never asked. See it from I am it the way it's always been for thought it was the norm. I am truly shocked people reaction to this and me.
  8. I'm lost I don't understand anything you have written? Not bullied at school, not likely to be either now either spare with Royce Gracie when he is in the uk. Google him. Asking the boy to jog back is bot belittling him. It's asking him work hard. I'm not asking you run, they have a choice with no gun to their head. No wonder this county is going to pot. All the uk guys saying I am not doing that. Oh maybe I will if you pay more. At least you will be popular with the polish.
  9. Ok guys I feel I need to clarify the whole thread. I lot of you guy seem to be jumping on the whole running thing and how I expect all groundys to run everywhere. That is NOT want I have said. Ok here goes let see how many comments can be taken out of context and the abuse start again on this friendly forum. Right, I do not expect my groundys with tickets to run about everywhere. I do not expect them to run ever. As for the boys from college boys who come and help out on their days off yeah I do expect them to get back from the chipper quickly, yeah jogging. They have no tickets so that means no chainsaw work! So their job is to feed the chipper, fill up saws and that it til rake time. I use the boys on three or four men days, there is plenty of time for them to look about and see what's going on. But when it's all going on pieces being rigged down by one guy being logged and cut up by another (all have their tickets) I and the ticketed groundys want the brash chipped and out of the way quickly so the drop and working zone is kept safe and clean. Now pretty much all my work is private work and the gardens here are not littered with land mines deep pits or any other death hazards. They are 99% grass and paths. Jogging back surely can't be that dangerous? The personal comments made about me are totally unfair none of you lot know me. I work very hard I am up early every day get everything load up before the lads get, nothing new sure a lot of you guys this. As soon as I have finished climbing I lead by example and do whatever needs doing dragging branches, raking up really whatever. No matter how knocked I am I always jog back from the chipper, instilled from my previous boss. He took me green straight from college and I was grateful of the job opportunity and did things the way he wanted them done. Once back at the yard the guys all go home I unload the van of tools, tip off and shapen up etc Oh, and all this and I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week weight lifting. If you are a Groundy with rigging experience and good on a saw then your safe from the whole jogging thing. However if your fresh meat with no tickets then yeah a jog would get you a lot more work from me and better pay than they would get if they didn't. Simple as that. They are not threatened to be burnt at the stake or sent home at lunch for not running, but hell they would be thought a lot better of by the whole team if they did. Like I originally said there are groundys and there are groundys. I will get an arbor trolley, but I am sure there will be some narrow access jobs or ones with steps where dragging will be the only way, and jogging back will be expected from the "boy" Let the abuse begin
  10. Case in point about the youth of today will is all about I can't do this it's to risky Jesee wants to get on enjoys working hard. Who would I rather have ? Jesse:thumbup1: Stick the young lads gonna stay with the golden generation.
  11. Why would he like to see them jogging why is that so unsafe. If the area has been checked?
  12. Eerrrr, wake up. Run back from the chipper show your boss your working you butt off and that you are an asset to his company that you get more done in a day than another tree bod. It's not rocket science. Generic example 2x plodders at £60 a day or one proper worker @£100 day I would rather be knackered at £100 a day than Feel okay for £60 a day, just me though £100 is top, if they don't jog back then guess what they don't get top money.
  13. ????????????? Where have they asked
  14. It's called work for a reason. My mrs can carry a branch to the chipper then put it though and walk back. An 18 year old keen to get into arb should be carrying multiple branches putting them though then jogging back in a very safe manner. It like I'm asking for the world. Honestly I was expecting the responses to be as follows. Yeah I have 2 great guys they work like hell and are machines getting back from the chipper. I always run back want my boss to see me work hard. Pay rise coming Want to work hard for the boss he pays me well so I work like hell Little jog keeps me looking trim, it's worm after all. Eye opener for me to be frank
  15. +1 If arb was football and you saw Rooney walking about most of the game you would Boo him off the pitch. Maybe I am unfair in expecting him to run back from the chipper but guess If he don't like it then there are loads of you lot who will have him. I sure as damit ain't the only one who WANTS to jog back from the chipper showing I wanna work, get on and get home. Hell even if it's 5 mins early, that 5 mins extra with my family and for what a bit of sweat from a gentle jog back from the chipper. Hardly difficult. It's called work for a reason.
  16. Seriously, get a life. Bet you have Velcro boots just I case you trip over you laces. We always get done the job doesn't hang on the fact if they don't run the job goes over. Just nice to see people on the ground working hard the guy rigging needs to be steady and work safe. The dragger surely can jog back empty handed. Really don't see the issue Hope they don't see this otherwise they will be on their hands and knees incase they fall over!
  17. Pretty sure I have used you before did you last the day?
