  4. got done last night in Worcestershire chainsaws and stihl petrol drill and the cheeky bastards also had the cat off my pick up , i understand how you feel but don't let them win bounce back dude .........
  5. sorry for the bazaaaaaar thread just been on a bad job with not the best fellers.
  6. does anyone exist who can do it ..................... no talk
  7. any machine rolls if you are running across a slope its basic forwarder driver skill that you plan your routes accordingly and run slopes straight or if too drastic winch down the timber and drive out straight from the bottom . its not the machine that is flawed but the operator training . i'm 6ft 4 and operate the machine fine and the machine has passed all the standards to work on fc ground with or without the full cab . All i seem to get is people who try to dismiss the machine i use it for proper forest operations where i need to make money from road side sales and i'm still making a profit. Many people have tried to make smaller machines and i have demo'd loads of them , its simple the alstor works
  8. I have been contracting with the Alstor 8x8 for he past three years , yes it seems expensive but when you are doing professional forestry and need the tonnage out its the right equipment for the job. I paid off my machine in 18 months and had no problems with it . As for its easy to roll it is not , it complies with all current standards and is the only mini forwarder they have assessed for fmoc. I say don't buy one if you haven't the work hire one with operator and see what it can do . There has been sites where for cost they have used quads or mini diggers for extraction and soon realize it costs more , does more damage and i get the call to clear up ...
  9. I haven't found that charlie , the most my machine has been laid up in bed sick feeling sorry for herself is four days that's with parts shipped from Sweden and fitted .... i find that 90% of parts for servicing and repair can be found locally for the alstor and its darn site cheaper than running a FULL SIZE MACHINE just the filter kit for a larger machine will cover my all my services and running repairs for the year not to mention tyres etc..... don't mean to go on but i have been contracting non stop for two years with this machine and its not let the side down yet and done thousands of tons... i'm not biased i'm practical i thought long and hard before i purchased my machine and have not regretted it once .
  10. I hire a alstor but with operator only fully fmoc qualified on the machine, we don;t hire machine only for safety reasons.

  17. hi just started clearing out a coupe in worcestershire ( lower broadheath) should be about 60 tons of mixed hardwoods , oak , cherry , aspen etc all good processor size in 6ft lenghts . 38.00 per ton road side if interested email me through woodlandways.net website or pm me cheers Dave
  18. couldn't agree more with all the above comments it paints a poor picture for the general public with there rose tinted glasses. one tree equals : one guy to fell it ( well hang it up ) one huge tractor to winch it down one guy all day to snedd and cut it one horse logger to extract to road side ( half day) i'm putting my rates up if the general public will buy into this ha ha ha

  22. yes i run a 18hp alstor with telescopic bunk , joy sticks and power take off for the remote winch to get the quantities of wood to contract for people i reccomend joy sticks for slick operation . my machine is two years old but because i drive and maintain it myself the overheads for repairs has been minimal and the machine has paid it self off with ease . i have sent you my number please feel free to call me if i can be any help at all regards
  23. hi its the fmoc 1.5 8wheel articulated and 3.2 forwarder handling loader position bunk the contact at nptc is callum rafferty at aye ( google it and your find his number). Dick bradshaw is the nominated assessor it all goes through callum. i hope to have more feed back from the assessment on wed and i'll post the feed back from Dick bradshaw of the posibilities and time frame for a bespoke course for these machines .
