Seemed like a genuine decent man who actually cared and stood by what he believed in. In the build up to the Iraq war when most other politicians and a lot of the media were in support he was a strong voice against it and was correct in what he said. RIP

Great post Adam. I'm self employed at the moment. Found a job in north wales so moved up here but the week before was due to start got a call to say job is no more. It was utility work so when Scottish power stopped all cutting it messed it up. Been up around a month and it's a bit of a struggle. Getting a few days here and there but it's the not knowing what's coming in a couple of weeks that's a prick. Luckily I can do a few other things so the last few days I rendered a gable and have a stone wall to repoint in a couple if weeks. -
What's the future of the NHS? All the parties promise more and more funding but where does it end? How big should the NHS budget be? The population is getting older so the strain isn't going to reduce

Do you not think that the advantages that we in the west have are a lot to do with where we were to be born? We are lucky to be in a part of the world which suffers no extremes of weather or major diseases so from birth we are at an advantage compared to someone born say in sub Saharan Africa.

You might have a better one. Probably because you left a white minority government in power which didn't give any power to the black majority.

Why did it end up with Mugabe in the first place? The European colonisers controlled everything in Africa then after the war decided to get rid of the colonies without really leaving a decent infrastructure or educated elite in place to take over.
