  1. My experience of a paraffin turbine thing and calor heater are that you get immense heat but loads of fumes. So much that you need to vent, and almost cancel the heat gain. Then add the water vapour and condensation If I had the means I'd put a wood burner in, but it'd need more work than any gain. Stick with electric.
  2. The Pic is a rip from the Forestry England website. Not getting my hopes up yet. Timber and the uses of wood WWW.FORESTRYENGLAND.UK England’s forests provide wood that is part of our everyday lives. Find out how the trees we grow end up in your home.
  3. Morning Nothing exciting here....more documentation... zzzzzz
  4. Morning Damage report - Zero Just a bit soggy. Onwards and upwards.
  5. Morning. Warmer and wet. No logs today. Quiet.
  6. Ash. Going into the next winter shed.
  7. Morning Out and about today. On the ground for a Leb Cedar fell that I'm hoping to mill. Then it's the weekend. Woo-Hoo
  8. Shouldn't that be Landrover?
  9. Morning Brisk but looking god Happy Belated Birthday @Doug Tait
  10. Morning Have a good day.
  11. You are a good man @Doug Tait It's been a rough couple of months. I got the nod from Mrs that enough was enough and so resigned. Mood has lifted considerably. Just need to find something to do now.....
  12. Morning Early start .woken by a fox visit at 2am. Down to last hen. Cheekily brisk and high hopes of a nice day. Fire lit. Dogs and cats accounted for and asleep. Contemplating future as I now work my notice. Things getting better.
  13. Morning Early start. Into the smoke again. Last time maybe as depending on a chat with the boss I've been writing my resignation letter all weekend. After last week I can't do any more of those. Weather isn't helping. Blowing and raining all night. No sleep.
  14. Had several S2's and 2A's Fond memories. Don't miss them. The ranger is so much kinder on the back and elbows

It was the back of the bus getting torn off that sold it for me. Deliveroo driver slowed to avoid. You can't fake that surely?
  16. Ditto. Week from hell. Wrote resignation letter and nearly sent it on a couple of occasions. Still touch and go. Long dark evenings don't help. Sure things will improve with a bit of Friday spirit.
  17. Not my favourite, but up there.... Sweet Chestnut. It's hot and most of all I see it as a renewable. Favourites .. Oak, Ash and nice dry Silver Birch are great, but when they are gone they are gone. Pretty sure if I'm still alive I'll be burning Sw/Ch in 20 years from the same plantation. Sorry #rantover no more preaching.
  18. Cool start and the nicest sunrise for a while. Thankfully no rain.
  19. Morning Bit of an edge to it..Heating came on...stat set at 16 Deg Lighting the stove and document day... Happy-hump-day Wednesday.
  20. Saying that. I bought my 881 from a chap that had bought it to cut up one tree on his "farm" When I saw the saw and the reciept from Rob @ Chainsawbars it all looked genuine and has been absolutely faultless.
  21. Looks straightforward but the treehouse story does sound very odd.
  22. Good Morning No rain yet, so already on to a winner.
  23. Morning Damage report = zero just very soggy Likely to continue with the moist theme...getting a bit bored of it.
  24. Lay in. Sorry. Needed it. Flat out yesterday. Proper day off with Mrs today. Smashing
