Agreed, however the newer fleets of electric tube trains and overground units use regenerative braking as well and so use less power overall. 1 to save wear and tear and 2 after an upgrade in the power control network and systems it is able to use the generated power and hence lessen the power demand. Not network wide yet but it'll be there in the next few years.

The whole cars are compliant...when similarly engined commercial derivatives aren't just highlighted in my mind hat it was nothing to do with pollution and was all about money. Even more...wen I used to work nights. I would take a VW Lupo Diesel in to work. It would easily do 70mpg and nearer 90 when in the 20mph zones...I'd be charged £12.50 before midnight and £12.50 after whilst using just a gallon of fuel to get there and back. Conversely a friend down the road had an 09 Bentley. Compliant ! so he would burn several gallons on the same trip. Yet no charge. 8 gallons of petrol vs 1 gall of diesel. doesn't make sense in my head. So therefore seems to NOT be about pollution. Lastly living outside of the zone and working inside without access to scrappage or any of the other benefits. unfair
  17. Morning
  18. Morning Going to sound like a broken record.. same as Stubby and Roboted Awake for long spells with the roar of the wind. Dogs didn't want to go too. On the ground today. Hoping it'll stay dry.
  19. Morning. Off to see little Sister in Somerset. Have a load of Oak in the truck as a late Christmas present. Collecting Dad and dropping him in Pompey. Home and relax. Have a great day.
  20. Festive Greetings I hope you are all fit and well. Enjoy the day. Bob
  21. Morning and seasonal greetings. Everything sorted for Christmas so a quiet morning up the farm clearing fallen trees and the odd dead ash for the farmer and my log store...when I can get in there with the truck in spring. A happy place.
  22. Morning Last day. Friday. Hooray! Load of Oak delivered yesterday. Mucho splitting ahead.
  23. Seasonal salutations. Morning Having a fair blow up here too. Not light enough to see if I'm busy or not. Good Luck All.
