  1. You aren't on your own Doug. I get that people feel the need to be constantly entertained but some of these events have far outstretched their original purpose, goal, idea, whatever and as you say are now a money making opportunity for someone. Not a gathering, or celebration as originally intended. It won't change sadly, so I avoid.
  2. Good Morning Overnight rain and a bit overcast and cooler. Local Beer Festival started yesterday. Used to be a real village thing where you'd have a catch up with all your mates. Now attracts scally-wags and riff-raff causing traffic chaos where people abandon cars on the narrow unlit road. I'll get over it. Loads of H/Chestnut to cut/split/stack and a Good Mates partners 50th in the cricket pavilion. This side of the Beer Fest luckily. Tomorrow could be a challenge and I'll be even later on parade. Have a great weekend.
  3. Good Morning Another day in Paradise. Have a brilliant (long) weekend.
  4. Good Morning Lovely start after yesterdays wet and thundery end. Nearly the long weekend and some huge lumps of H/Chestnut to play with. Have a smashing one. p.s. Still hoping Peds is well on the mend.
  5. Good Morning Same here Stubby. Happy Hump-day Wednesday Be good.
  6. Good Morning Steady day ahead. Holidays...counting down the days till mine. Have a relaxing time. Have a good one.
  7. Good Morning Grey start, it'll get better. Have a good one.
  8. Good Morning Nice quiet day tinkering and pottering I hope. Joyous result for S London. Have a good one.
  9. Lay in. Good Morning Collect the bike from the wizzard and re-assemble. That's it! Oh, and Come on you Eagles! It'd be nice for one of the lesser clubs to win and maybe enjoy a year of reward. Hoping Peds progress is upwards and sending positive thoughts.
  10. Good Morning Have a speedy recovery Peds. Have a good one.
  11. You need to get to the milling thread from Rough Hewn. I'll mill all day with a 46" Sugi on the 881. I have a skip chain if needed but only for a real nice finish. Also have a 25" for crosscuts, but it's rarely used unless I'm onsite milling and don't want to bring too many saws. Hope this helps.
  12. Good Morning Bit Grey, but it'll do. Have a decent one. Onwards....
  13. Good Morning Midweek again. They are getting faster. Nice one @maybelateron everyone home safe is always best. Enjoy and be good.
  14. Good Morning Not sure if we had a bit more overnight rain or not. Pretty moist out there. Have a good one.
  15. Good Morning Overnight rain, the best sort. Hope your lad gets sorted out quickly Stubby. Glad he walked away unscathed. Have a good one.
  16. Good Morning No Chicken alarm clock, just needy cat at 5. Successful day pottering yesterday. Bike moved out for more intense surgery, leaves space to potter. Hoping for a repeat today. The to finish....haircut, shave, shower and kip.
  17. Good Morning For a short week it didn't feel much like one. Job close to home. First in months. Won't drag it out but won't be rushing. Have a brilliant day/weekend.
  18. If it were me to make 25:1 into 50:1 just double the fuel. If you had 5l @25:1 then 10l will make 50:1
  19. Good morning Scared chicken alarm clock works too well. No fox just a solitary Roe munching grass. Potentially last day in deepest W London, a relief. Pretty sure I tore a muscle in my calf last night and feel sore today. Putting a roll of bubble wrap in the passenger seat. Go figure. For those on holiday....I jealous. Enjoy , you deserve it. For the grafters, be safe and have a good one. I'll be taking it easy, if I get the chance the Polish supermarket and the Asian grocers will see me for lunch.
  20. Nice one Stubby Hoping for a small change though. Avoid the 2 1/2 drive to W London. Hoping traffic will be kinder and less complete madness. Have a good one.
  21. Saw that live on TV yesterday. Looked bad, really bad. Really enjoy the bikes and hope the lad makes a good recovery.
  22. Good Morning Fresh start. Fresh site. Have a good one.
  23. Morning Funny night. Next doors Calf loose (again) last night. Put away safely Visit from fox at 4:30 Went back and fell asleep. Nice one Stubby. Good on you! Happy Hols Pete. Be safe/well/enjoy.
  24. It's a trading game. You want to feel like you have value for money and the GC would like the same. I have sold a pickup heaped load (delivered within 6 mile or so) of uncut firewood for anything between £25 and £40 dependant on the wood. Earlier shout of £30 seems fair. As long as both parties are happy and so the e relationship continues, so that more loads are available.
  25. Good Morning De-stress Pete. Mrs is counting the days till our trip away. It's been a quirky year to be sure. Hoping this is the last day IN Landon. Next week will be M25 and outwards...fingers crossed. Have a great and relaxing long weekend.
