    I've used several cranes on jobs before, but i'm with rupe on this one, being cost affective is a big thing when you don't have much work, i look to use cranes when its needed, but if i was to do 3 jobs in a day with a crane round here, people would start talking about how i turn up with a monster crane for 2 hours work and still charge them 450. i would end up with no work, Because people like to see you work for your money plus its not always the case to just turn up with a crane, blocking roads is extra cost from highways then theres traffic management, so now the job has gone from £450 to £1250 now if that was me i know which quote i would choose. nice job by the way rupe,

    great photos ad thats one tame robin. What a fine charlie good photo to. Will try for a barn owl thats near by tomorrow, hopefully she will be around while i'm there.

    its a wall lizard (wallie) its common predeator is a kestrel. great find.

    Love the Harris hawk Ian see the picture of it hunting in the hobbies thread. Great shots David do you know what Lizard that is that looks like a snake?

    There are some great photos and its not about the camera its about the wildlife so click away my good friend. Must say though that shot of the ducklings is great ecolojim:thumbup:

    no sorry mate, it was on a lime stone track through a local wood. but don't worry because it was only the size of a 20p piece. Thanks Janey just trying to put together something good for everyone, nice picture though what was it eating?

    Just thought i'd start a new thread, and celebrate some of lifes little creations and see how our efforts are doing towards conservation. please feel free to post your pictures, and see what different local wildlife there is from around the globe...........Heres some to start the thread of.

    thanks for the opinion mate just got asked to quote for deadwood thats all and just thought about the possibilities of a limb drop. got a present for you anyway mate, will have it in your reduction thread in a little while.

    the hitcher climber is not a system its just a pulley with 3 attachment points. there's all the usual knots to go with i.e disdel, vt, ect, great with use in the m method check out treehamel on Youtube.

    i will get a photo tomorrow mate, as i've promised monkeyd a picture of the lime i did a coronet cut on and the beech is in the same place so will get a couple for you to. you trespassing i would never of thought that of you hamma:lol:

    what's your view on this tree in particular hamma, have you seen the tree recently, hows it coping with the elements, just curious about it as i have a similar beech with 4 compression forks. roughly the same size in girth.

    If every thing was perfect then, we, us man kind the world the solar system the universe......would not exist. Fact. (Steven Hawkins.) with out decay and dysfunction we would not exist, so your answer to that is it is normal, We have a 350 year old ash tree in a little place called donington in lincs and it was roughly pollarded about 200 years ago. its amazing when you look at it just how fragile it really is but it still shows the signs the strength the persistent's to carry on with life. now on the other hand we have a beech tree over 400 years old in another little village call kirton which has no previous reductions whats so ever it has no signs of fungi (except the micro orgs) and the tree is an absolute monster living its most amazing beauty of all UNTOUCHED. So like i've said before the fact of whether or not a reduction of any kind is wrong or right will never be answered. niether in my life time or any one elses but one thing i do know they will out live us all.
