  5. Okay, looking on Amazon.com and there are 183 reviews on the Husky helmet so theres some reading to do there! Also the STIHL INTEGRA CHAINSAW Helmet - Chainsaw - Headware Buy STIHL Helmets Buy UK looks okay with the extra eye protection i like the idea of.
  6. Very nice Petzl but would you do that with free delivery to me in Southern Ireland? Thats the burning question!!
  7. Well, i would prefer a whole new system as the ear defenders on the Oregon suck as well really! Would love a Stein Super Plasma but thats a bit out of my range. So are the muffs no good on the Husky helmets then?
  8. Hey guys and gals, I'm looking to buy a new helmet as the old Oregon i have is not comfortable at all. The trouble is i am on a budget as i have just had to put a new piston and pot on my 357xp which burnt a big hole in my pocket. So, looking to go up to about 60 - 70 quid and comfort is the key word to the the purchase please. Thanks a million.
  9. Try bruising the leaves of a Common Elder and rub them on your skin to keep them away or you could try taking garlic capsules which will excrete through your skin. And apparently Marmite does work just as well.
  10. Had the first snow of the season up here in the mountains of Co.Kerry!
  11. Beech wood fires are bright and clear If the logs are kept a year, Chestnut's only good they say, If for logs 'tis laid away. Make a fire of Elder tree, Death within your house will be; But ash new or ash old, Is fit for a queen with crown of gold Birch and fir logs burn too fast Blaze up bright and do not last, it is by the Irish said Hawthorn bakes the sweetest bread. Elm wood burns like churchyard mould, E'en the very flames are cold But ash green or ash brown Is fit for a queen with golden crown Poplar gives a bitter smoke, Fills your eyes and makes you choke, Apple wood will scent your room Pear wood smells like flowers in bloom Oaken logs, if dry and old keep away the winter's cold But ash wet or ash dry a king shall warm his slippers by.
  12. You need to embrase the fear. That fear is adrenaline and you are persieving it in a negative form, turn that to a positive and enjoy the rush. The only time you know you are truely alive is when you are closest to death. Step into the breach eyes wide open and grab life by the horns. Toodle pip.
  13. I just bought a 7 ton horizontal the other day. Thought i would try some ash blocks from a couple of years ago that i cannot split with my maul, the electric splitter just laughed at it! make sure you get one with a cross axe too so it splits into 4 in one go. no regrets here, it means i can carry on felling while the wife is splitting.
  14. Gutted, a sad loss for all. Gods speed buddy.
  15. Well i'm on my 3rd kit from ARB for my Husky 353/346xp. The first 2 blew up when the circlip snapped. Now on the 3rd they have snipped off the tails of the circips and so far so good. They are great people to deal with and seem to try their best to fix any problems.
  16. Oh jesus, dont say new ignition unit!!!! I will try again about midnight before i go to bed. Have to be Monday for a new plug.
  17. Still not starting and the plug is still wet.
  18. I think i will leave it until about 10 o'clock and try it again then.
  19. Afraid to say i thought i may have flooded it, so i did the plug out and upside down/give it a few tugs bit. Also gave it a bit of low pressure air from the compressor to help dry things out, i did notice it was dripping a bit of fuel from down where the fuel line goes to the tank, not sure if thats where the breather is.
  20. Logging away yesterday with my Husky 353, got a bit carried away and ran out of fuel. Filled her up and now she wont start! I am sure i am over looking something but cannot figure out what. I pulled the plug and that looks a bit black so leaned it off 1/3rd of a turn and cleaned it up. Got a nice healthy spark too. I tried it with the choke on/off decomp button works good and the plug is getting wet after a few tugs. Any ideas before i peg it in the river?
