  1. Can you give me a link to your vids please?
  2. There you go, at least you got some work from someone!
  3. Hmm, think i will stick with the ebay jobbie then. £58 fingers crossed i cant go wrong! I did another exhaust port like your shotgun one except the 2nd is o the opposite side, I presume i should richen it up a bit?
  4. Very nice Spud! So how about fitting a big bore kit to the 353? What other cylinders and pistons would fit?
  5. No, there is no green cap so i presume its the straight. The lising for the cylinders on ebay say they are for the 346 as well. I see inside the muffler there is a baffle plate, should i drill some holes in that to improve flow?
  6. Thanks for that Spud but i am really on a budget so it looks like i will be going for one of those kits from ebay. I had the piston out and it is classic heat siezure. Would like to try and do a muffler mod but not sure how as looking at the exit of the muffler and it seems to be a tube that goes in so how would i open that up? Would anyone know what other dog spikes would fit as there are none with my saw?
  7. And the grand answer is...........heat seizure! Bugger, not sure what to do now. Dont think i can go back to the guy on ebay and say its seized and i want a refund.
  8. Dude, i hope so. I only just bought it off good old Fleabay and my wife will kill me if its needing a new Cylinder and piston!
  9. Thanks for that but its a long drive from the west coast of Ireland! Lol.
  10. And i would like to ak if you would post to southern Ireland please?
  11. Do we have an update yet of how it performs in the field?
  12. It is getting a spark but i wouldnt say it is a great one. There isnt really a great difference in compression if i press the decompression button either.
  13. Hey all, I was out with my 353 yesterday going through some 13" ash. Half way through my 3rd cut it stated bogging down and cut out. I tried to restart it and it would only start with some throttle so i finished off the cut and it died again. Now it wont start at all. When i try to start it it makes a few backfire noises and that it, any ideas to help me along? Filters are clean and plug is a nice tan colour. Fuel is fresh and correctly mixed.
  14. Oh my god, we have a Mustang here too! Just wish the boss would buy one of these.
  15. I'm thinking the 346 as i will be felling a few and i have a bit to do around the farm. My nearest dealer want 660euro for one! Think it will be the 2nd hand route.
  16. Well i asked the seller what he would recommend out of the 3 and he said: Hi Pete, yes the postage cost is the same for all the saws i have. If you are a novice, then i recommend the 350. To be fair the 2 pro saws i have are a very nice saw to use but are very lively. The 350 is classed as a semi pro saw, again a nice saw to use. The muffler problem can affect any of the husqvarnas of this era, provided they are looked after and serviced properly they should not give to much trouble. 2 seconds with an 8mm spanner to check exhaust bolts now and then is not a hard job. Kind regards Mark. So by that he is saying i should buy the cheapest one from him which kind of makes me feel he is being honest with me. Heres the ebay link. HUSQVARNA 350 CHAINSAW IN VERY GOOD CONDITION on eBay (end time 01-Mar-11 16:59:15 GMT)
  17. Hey guys, Just wondered if you could give me a few pointers for a replacement saw as the McCulloch just isnt up to the job. Mainly for home and some farm use. Ok, so how about; Husky 357 17" @ £295 Husky 346 13" @ £275 Husky 350 15" @ £190 All used and in good condition. What would be your pick from them? I know there are issues with the 350 muffler falling off but can they be modified some how to fix that? Which would be best for felling up to about 17" trees occasionally but normally 12"-14"? And, yes, i am a noob!
  18. Oh right, cool thanks for that. So your saying nothing about the 350, i take it i should forget about that one?
  19. Ok, so how about; Husky 357 17" @ £295 Husky 346 13" @ £275 Husky 350 15" @ £190 All used and in good condition. What would be your pick from them? 20. But that still works out to £330! Thats good i thought? I need something good to start off with, i cant go on with my McCulloch 738 anymore i need something with a bit more balls that wont cost a fortune.
  21. Fllowing on from the other 290 thread. What do you guys think of this MS290? Real or fake? Bargain or not? Thanks. STIHL MS 290 Chain Saw include 20" Bar & Chain & Case - eBay (item 380293543998 end time Feb-25-11 11:01:17 PST)
  22. I saw that and had a think about it as well. The thing is all you guys laugh and say its a fake you can tell a mile off. Then you get guys like me that are just starting out that dont have a clue, i'm not laughing because i thought about buying this saw! Why is this a fake, what gives it away apart from the price?
