  1. Wheelie bin is a good idea but I imagine it'd be pretty heavy to manoeuvre/tip once it was anything over half full??
  2. Why is it so hard to find used tracked skidsteers in the UK, where as they seem far more populer in the US.
  3. Looks beaut! I'm possibly in the market for one of these so will be keen to know your opinion of them once youv'e used it in anger (so to speak:laugh1:)
  4. :laugh1:much like people driving in heavy traffic, brings out the worst in people. Tesco on a Saturday morning is sheer hell. The only time can face a supermarket shop is late at night.
  5. This is true, but over the whole spectrum of produce tesco must be cheaper than small time produce shops, milk for example at £1 for four pints- how can that make sense? Tesco is part of the mass-produced world we live in, possibly needed to support such a high population? S.varty- I reckon youv'e hit the nail on the head, change in the way of life had killed of the small shops.
  6. This is my point tho. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with how the situation is but Tesco simply cater for what people want and that has killed the high street shops, if people didn't want it then tesco etc wouldn't be surviving.
  7. Food is cheap at the moment, people would be moaning if food was twice the price. Its a tricky one, people want cheap food yet they still want tesco to fail, and its not just tesco all of them are the same. Who here can honestly put their hand up and say they only shop at the local greengrocer/farm shop/fishmonger etc. I don t but I could if I actually made the effort and spent more money too, so its either one or the other IMO. Any company as large as Tesco is going to be making massive profits so I don't know how much of an argument that is?
  8. so true! I hate a machine sitting around for a week-let alone months:laugh1:
  9. and remove their hands so they won't be tempted in the future:thumbup1:
  10. havn't really got much against Tesco- certainly no more than any other multinational company. Its just the way the world works now plus they employ a huge number of people. How else would you like it Jon?
  11. Iv had 4 saws off Dougie and they were all either the same or cheaper then I could find online. I don't know where I'm going to hire a chipper now:thumbdown:
  12. Well, that's going to be a big pain in the backside, was regularly hiring mowers and chippers of him, some people slate him, but I always found him very fair and sorted me out good deals on saws etc.
  13. It seems there might be a gap in the market for a good Arb shop down here?
  14. I wouldn't touch abbey with a very long bargepole as iv had too many cock ups from them and their staff are mostly clueless. Feel free to delete this if it counts as naming and shaming mods!
  15. I hired a chipper of Doug no more then 14 days ago- has he really sold up???? He made no mention of it....
  16. Yes, I agree if I was one of those idiots who drive around with a 5" lift and one life live it stickers:001_rolleyes: but I like my land rover for the good basic workhorse it has turned out to be. It is a very economical (in terms of downtime) truck and does absolutely every thing I ask of it- who could ask for more:thumbup:
  17. my two. zetor has been used for postdriving over the last year, Just brought the Same (the one with the loader), to take over the zetor as its quicker getting to jobs and uses considerably less diesel.
  18. a few picture of my digger- scrapping around in the yard having a burn up, nice Saturday afternoon job:thumbup1:
  19. I must have missed you by minutes, I was aiming for 1 but by the time I got sidetracked by the new timber wolf chipper it was more like 20 past:laugh1:
  20. Pretty gutsy for a corn snake:thumbup1:
  21. I went yesterday, did many people arrive for the 1pm rendezvous?
  22. Ah that explains why I didn't t see them then:laugh1:
  23. Hmm, not convinced. I wriggled under it and had a good look under neath, looked pretty similar in construction to defender, apart from some fairly beefy looking rear leaf springs. Bigger and better engine definiately, but in general couldn't see it being 20+k better. If that's the price of the truck imagine what the parts would cost. Very basic looking on the inside (not a bad thing). Now the 6x6 Sprinter tipper was very sexy.
