  1. Its been on before that chipper with similar or same wording a few months ago. Im not sure if its genuine, but buyer to collect so unless he stated he must be paid online immediately after auction finishes then I can't see what he can gain from this venture. It could be OK...
  2. Tyres- Bfg, fit and forget. Chassis- personally I'm not a big fan of painting the chassis with anything other then waxoyl. Paint can bubble up, trap water etc. I slap waxoyl allover mine and short of filling the chassis with engine oil that's probably the best you can do for it.
  3. There a lot of people doing and a lot of people wanting it whether there is enough wood in the first place is another matter, I don't think there is myself. Not sustainable anyway, France it seems is more geared up for this. People probably sell gear over the summer months then upgrade come autumn.
  4. Got Kawasaki and tanaka at the mo, the Kawasaki is more reliable nicer to handle and has a better cut then the tanaka, the tan aka isn't bad it keeps plodding on but not sure I'd buy another. If I was buying now it would be a toss up between echo and kasawaki- whichever was the best deal I guess. The new echo seems to be very good but the older models I used to use seemed to have Carb problems regularly so I guess that's slightly tarnished my opinion of them, seems that's all been ironed out with new models tho.
  5. Thank you for that generous offer:thumbup1: I'm hoping the flap discs will do the job because then I won't have to remove the rollers from the machine, if I'm having no luck I may take you up on that- one of the rollers is fairly well worn.
  6. I don't think you would compare them, every dog has its own character and in my opinion if anything happened to my dog I would get another almost immediately, its not a case of replacing it and forgetting the old one or betrayal or anything like that, but the joy that you companion brought and the hole that's it has left is too great to live without. Very sad day when a canine family member goes. To most they literally are a best mate.
  7. Great, cheers treequip- good call on the flap discs, just ordered some 120 and 60 grit ones from screwfix:thumbup1:
  8. Just purchased a used tp200 PTO which appears to be in pretty good condition but the roller blades could do with a sharpen the manual says I can do this with an angle grinder. I assume the best way is to gently grind the big flat face of each blade down as opposed to grinding the small vertical face inwards as the weld seams will get in the way. Also the manual just mentions about grinding the bottom roller the top one doesn't seem like it needs grinding much anyway but does anyone do that one too. So nice to work on that chipper though:thumbup1: I don't want to slate my timber wolf but changing the blades in the TP is a breath of fresh air and what's this- big greasable bearings!?
  9. I got an ELH after meeting the man the myth the legend at the APF show last year cos he was such a nice nice guy, turns out the harness is quite use full too! Never actually used the extra gas strut though.
  10. Work on my own mostly , its nice to have company but good labour is hard to find and many times the job doesn't warrant it or pay for it anyway
  11. I really don't like eBay for this reason, there is an element of trust involved between buyers and sellers and obviously the scam monkeys take advantage of this, I just brought a chipper on eBay, yet to collect it but I'm not paying until if seen it with my own eyes.
  12. That's the way to do it , I don't think any self employed person ever really switches of just as I doubt farmers ever switch of. Call me unproggressive but I try not to progress my business too much otherwise your adding extra strain upon yourself. If you are happy with your lot just keep it at that and try not to chase the Yankee dollar too much- its too stressful:thumbup1:
  13. Shame, I was just about to make you a cash offer of 300 for the lot:lol:
  14. Just my input. A lot of older tractors won't have the hydraulic umph to power splitters and post knockers, however if this is the case you can get a pto hydraulic pump and reservoir. Also if you are planning on running a knocker you do want a bit of weight in the tractor so I wouldn't go for anything too small. I run a knocker on my 70hp 4x4 zetor and I'm not sure I would want much smaller on hills unless its a very light knocker which is self defeating!
  15. Makes you think though, anyone involved in handling oils and greases involved with machinery should take precautions against exposure. Hydraulic oil is thought to be another nasty so iv just read, don't think lithium grease Is too bad though.
  16. Is new/unused chain and engine oil considered to be carcinogenic too or is it just one it gets used?
  17. Expensive afternoon I reckon!
  18. That blokes got the perfect egg head.
  19. Well done Jennie, good luck with the race. Donation made:thumbup1:
  20. Big bolt that looks tidy on that boxer, which model is it x2500? And what size auger will it run up to? Thanks, auger torque make very good quality products and not badly priced too
  21. The trouble with tractor mounted augers is you have no control of getting the auger up right. The trick is to pull forwards slightly as it goes down to keep it upright. Mini diggr ones you can control it all and keep it vertical with out having to move the actual machine.
  22. Any auger will go off line if it hits rocks bigger then it can dig out, I have a bracket on my mini digger auger so you can keep it reasonably on line but I bent one of the smaller augers once by trying to force it a bit too much. That was trying to put fencing up on a disused quarry the ground was the old granite spoil pit:laugh1: £500 seems very cheap for any auger, my biggest auger piece alone nearly cost that. The actual drive unit was £1400
  23. But in the same sense the timberjack could have done with a few sticks on the bed:thumbup1:
  24. Just watched the quadtrak vs tank video, tank peed all over it, must have been a fair old chain tyed between the two tho!
