  1. I have had a Holder A55 for 8 years and it works a lot in the woods. I absolutely love it, I rebuilt the engine last year and the parts were quite dear, but if you look after it, it will last you many years. I have mine completely stripped down getting ready to paint it. They are built like a tank, very simple and very robust.
  2. Thanks for the answers. Are you all buying the attachments from Avant/mult-one, or aftermarket ? I presume that they are pretty expensive for what they are.
  3. I am wondering if anyone would mind sharing what attachments they bought when they bought their Avant or Multi-one loader. Have you bought more since, or did you get everything you needed when you bought it ? Thanks for any input
  4. I have Crispi boots for cross country skiing and they are fantastic. I have used them for 9 years now and still in very good condition. I would definitely buy another pair
  5. I found them pretty helpful when I dealt with them. Before we bought, we went down and test drove a few to choose the best one, it was pretty interesting driving round their site with all the ex military kit they have lying around. When I dealt with them, you had to do everything yourself, they are only interesting in selling it, so you have to sort out registration, etc.... We might have just driven it home on a Sunday and hoped for the best but I couldnt confirm that !
  6. I recommend you give Technical Arc some consideration : Technical Arc – The UK's leading manufacturer of welding & cutting equipment. TECHNICALARC.CO.UK The UK's leading manufacturer of welding & cutting equipment. They are UK manufacturers, I have a plasma cutter, a MIG welder and a TIG welder from them and they are all superb. Really great company to deal with and great backup should you ever need it. You can talk to the actual person who screwed your machine together which is worth a lot for me. They also guarantee spares availability for something like 20 years.
  7. The other thing I meant to say is a lot of people obsess too much about the details. Its not like we are going to be olympic athletes. Sometimes when I am not in the mood, they are completely rubbish technique but it doesnt matter I just push on, its better to do some rubbish ones than none at all. Whatever you do, you want it to be difficult by the end. As soon as your condition improves and you find it easy, then make it more difficult ! What inspired me was I once went to a karate course with a brilliant instructor from Japan. He started the training by saying that he isnt particularly good at karate, he is good at training every day. He said that to him it didnt matter if he liked it, hated it, was sick, or anything else, he just did it. We dont generally skip cleaning our teeth based on our mood. To me now it is totally ingrained habit and I cant see myself ever stopping.
  8. I used to have a lot of back problems through my 20's and 30's. Then when I was around 40 I started to do daily training. I reckon most of us are quite strong physically but piss poor in the core (I was !). In the morning before breakfast I do 100 chinups, 100 situps and 100 pressups. It is dead quick, I do it while the kettle is boiling. I did this for about 4 years, and then I added some in the evening, I do 100 chinups, but it is 5 sets of 20 and they are calisthenic chinups so much more technical. Now I am 48 and I havent had any back problems for almost 10 years, in fact I am in much better nick now then when I was younger. I also train karate twice a week and also try and run or cycle twice a week if poss. Daily training is the key, I havent missed a day in over 8 years, even when I broke my ribs, I found something I could do and didnt stop. The other thing is stretching. I hate it, but I know it does me good so I suffer through it. I think that this is probably as important as the exercise as you start to get older.
  9. Think I answered my own question ? It looks like it is driven from the inside of the clutch drum.
  10. Hello, I am thinking of using a 395XP chain oil pump in a different application. Can anyone tell me how the little plastic worm gear is held onto the crank. Is the shaft splined or keywayed or is it just a tight fit ? Also, anyone got a rough idea what diameter the crank is at this point Thanks for your help
  11. Yes I have been on there a lot trying to read up on it. If I can make it work, I would like to convert an old pickup also, just for fun.
  12. When I get time this summer I am going to try and make a woodgas boiler so I can run a genny from it. I will make the first one from scrap, but if I can get it to work, I am going to make a good one from Stainless and make it as a combined heat and power unit so I can heat the house and make electric. I will put a thread up when I do it. I am going to base it off these plans as he seems to have worked out a lot of the problems : Wood Gasifier Builder Set WWW.WOODGASIFIERPLANS.COM The world's most popular wood gas book + video + 2D flat CAD files. Download today. Bonus 1: Engine conversion, Bonus 2:...
  13. Yes, Eos doesnt install on the latest phones. I have it on a Motorola G7 and it is fine for what I want. You can install something called Aurora store which allows you to install all apps through an anonymous portal somehow so you never log onto Google. I have installed quickbooks, banking apps and a few others. You have to be much more selective over which apps you install, certainly nothing google or facebook. This is all about a balance, if you want to get rid 100% of spyware then you would bin your phone and PC
  14. Agreed, it is one of those things that until you start looking into the details of it, you think it is quite harmless. At the end of the day everyone will do what they want, I was just wanted to highlight that it is quite possible to do away with most of it and not really be any worse off for it.
  15. If you install linux, then you would completely wipe the computer so you would start with a clean computer. You dont need to buy a new one, it will work great on an older one, much better than windows. I use Freetube which lets you watch youtube and subscribe to channels but anonomously. You dont get any adverts also which is super nice. I use duckduckgo to search and never log onto google for anything.
