  1. Ha ha don't they just drive you mad!! I thought that would work too ........until I watched a documentry on them. I cant remember what it was called......but basically they were doing the same as you in the pic. They some how filmed the mole in the hole...all he did was dig himself a little hole and put his head into until it was safe. I used to catch them like you but went underneath them with a spade. some died but I let the live ones go in a wood across the river from us. I thought they wouldn't come back but the little sods can swim as well. They aint half cute though, and the power in those front paddle/claw ry things is awesome.
  2. Many thanks.. I wasn't really sure where to put them for you fungi guys to have a look. Here's the pics they're not great as my phone is a bit naff. I hope you payed a visit to * Giant Toadstools to ID the giant fungi there:biggrin: Cheers steve
  3. I judge the wood I burn, on how big the crack gets ontop of my stove(caused from not putting it through enough heat cycles when I bought it) Hardwoods open it a bit....but soft woods especially larch causes the crack to open nearly enough for the flames to come out of it. Bring on the soft wood reveloution. Actually don't because my customers will wan't to keep it and I won't have any to burn for free. So SHHHHH Soft wood is rubbish ok.
  4. I forgot to say we don't butcher trees either... I'd rather walk away than look back at something that looks crap. That's call good business to me.
  5. whats the point in spending time. Explaining to the customer the right way?....... and then saying ok you don't want that so i'll do it the wrong way instead:confused1: you'd just as well not bother and do it their way in the first place IMO:001_smile:
  6. Hey Hama can you I'd some fungi for me please?.......I'm just getting the fungi bug and thought I would remember the names(some of which I can hardly pronounce)if I learn't them as I found them. Cheers Steve

  8. Is it a loop handled or cow horned fs 85? It'll do the job fine......but the loop handled one will be horrible to swing around compared with the cow horned one.
