  1. Did the stupid thing of showing my Mrs the pic of your new pup, now she won't stop going on about getting one, not that I don't, would love one. But moving back to NZ next year and don't want to pay for a ticket for the four legged friend. Nice pup thou.

  3. Up there last week and completed my CS30/31 course, great place, Barbra is very friendly, had trouble squeezing in a course be because of my shifts, She stuck with me and I managed to get on one. Planning on going back to do my CS38/39 when I save up the cash. Well worth getting yourself on a course if your thinking about it.
  4. £8 looking at the web site, get there for around 10-11 ish. It takes around just over 2hrs to drive fella, say leave at 8am. Get back to Kent for around 6pm, But that's not set in stone, could be flexible. Just let me know. Matt
  5. What it says on the tin, planning on driving up to the Arb show on the Saturday 11th to catch up a friend and hopefully, not spend to much on the credit card!! Will be leaving in the morning and heading back at some point in the afternoon, have an empty car so if any one is near Tunbridge Wells in Kent then your more than welcome to a lift.
  6. Will do, saved up some cash so will be looking around the show for the harness that fits and at a good price, see you there.
  7. After some climbing bits, will be pestering Mr Jones for there advise as I want to pick up my first harness at the show!

  9. Hi, sounds like a great idea, can't wait for the results as I'm just saving to get my first harness. Had a hang in a few at FR Jones a while back but it would be good to see what other (much more knowledgeable) people use. When do you think you will have enough results? Hope it's all going well.
  10. Hi Paul, depending on your time scale I would be up for helping you. New to the Arb world, off to NZ tomorrow for 3 weeks then back to do my CS30/31 then pushing on to do my CS38/CS39 in the summer. If it helps you fella then I'm more than ip for helping.
  11. Hi every one, I'm new to the arb world and have only been in a tree a few times and have yet to do my CS38, at the age of 30 i'm trying to pick up the trade on my days off as i'm a firefighter. At work i'm a line rescue firefighter, a weeks course is not enough to turn some one into a good climber let alone some one who can hold there nerve when performing a rescue. I think (in my limited time in the trees) would be to make the course slightly tougher and maybe a bit longer to give students more trees to climb with lots of different rescues. Then its down to the boss or the climber to maintain the skill level, if your not happy with some one on the ground then make them safe. I would think it's hard to try and fit in training with try to keep the cash coming in, at work we have the luxury of being able to do a few hours a day on line rescue, but if you all say 15min should be a cut off then why not squeeze in a few rescues once a month, more if you have the time. Our course at work is about 2 weeks, but it is only with on going training and practise do you gain the skill set to become a good rescuer. Maybe this could be put over to the Arb world, like I said i'm new so I can only comment on what i know from work.
