  7. hia flames have you tried spraying with car laquer i met someone who sprayed there bowls etc with it and they looked well polished

  10. i like your answers, makes me think about what other trees have we lost through climate change and what other trees we might lose or gain through the present climate change even though it might not be as big as the last ones. also have another question - if a seed was to be buried in a state of storage in ice or something could it germinate if the conditions were to change i.e how long would the seeds last before they were no use

  15. hia flames i paid for a guy called paul atkin (very nice bloke and really enjoyed the day) at york to show me how to make two tools and then use them, they can be tricky to use at first especially when taking the core out because of the force created but with practice its getting easier.
  16. i could be wrong but i think the monkey puzzle is a native tree of england as you can get whitby jet from the beach which is fossilised monkey . how much is the stem worth if sold for turning ?
  17. ive been told there are roman villages and old forests under the sea on the east coast and have seen the stumps on low tide i think it was some where around mablethorpe

  19. some nice work there sean especially like the creativity of some of them, i keep saying im going to have a go but want to get a carving bar first. would love to have a go at doing a green man. how long have you been carving

  21. cheers hama just checked piptoporus betulinus but it doesnt look the same the one i saw looked like a golf ball, round and about the same size can they be flat or round ? i loved the oak with the buckle would the propertys of the buckle be sought after for the grain or anything
