  7. prunus lusitanica? prunus lusitanica - Google Search
  8. would a lockjack or spiderjak work with srt? im wondering this because when using drt you weight is only half of what it would be on drt? if it would work then surley one of those would be the best option because you could use it during drt and then use it in place of a croll and also use it to decend on?
  9. looks good that does, now you just need to figure out a back mounted one for your climbing line to save redirecting
  10. ah right, thanks for that Jamie: what about the id. they look like a smaller version of the rig?
  11. thanks for that, i think they are what i was belayed on at the arb show. i am right in thinking that they are locked off with a knot on top?
  12. would you be able to clip a footloop into a tree wrench?
  13. i like that, especialy with been abel to work around the tree. do you know roughly what they work out at with importing them?
  14. ooooooooo, shiney! where can you get them from and what sort of money? do they lock or do you need a hitch as well?
  15. iv got a 341 and one of the blokes at work has a 362. tbh there aint a lot of differnce between the 2. the 362 might have the edge on bigger bars but we havent done a test. we normaly just go for a bigger bar when over 18" is required
  16. mog, a picture would be awsome, especialy for working of srt. so do you have to be double the size of the smallest for drt, say double wrist size? dave, very nice set up, like you say simple and little kit
  17. David, sounds like a good system, just wish id brought a grigri and not a croll then i would be able to try it Paul, thats a pretty good idea. like they guy in the video said it uses a lot of rope tho. other than that im gonna have to give it ago
  18. i saw those at the show as well. i liked them but not that you cant replace individual parts on them or that there not CE marked and not for sale
  19. ah, does that replace the croll or as well? also how do you get the hand acender off the line with the weight on it, which it must be as its pulled the hitch up? Edit: sorry ben, just read your post
  20. them decenders are good but more money. iv seen it done on munters and figure of 8's and thats how i would like to do it.
  21. that one fat squizzer! very good tho
  22. yesterday at the Arb show i had a go at SRT under the helpful eye of Taylor Hamel. I liked it and decided to go and get some bits and bobs to make my own set up, so got hand acender, croll and foot acender. put em all together and can get up a tree, kind of , but how do you get down? iv been switching onto a munter but cant switch from acending stuff to the munter very well. is this right and how do you switch over? cheers, Gary btw with Taylor i was belayed out of the tree
  23. fungus - defo Armillaria, would it be possible for the roots to from a second stem inside the original if there were enough of them? dave - it went through the chipper with the rest of the rotten stuff in the stump so no one will ever know
  24. fungus - iv just googled Armillaria rhizomorph just to check and yes. there were some roots that penetrated the rot tho. one of them was mabey 8 in in diameter!
